Could someone please tell me about Marrakesh for dinner? Want to try something different and any impressions would be appreciated. TIA:goodvibes:goodvibes

I was there in Jan 2009. It was a mediocre experience. It wasn't that it was bad, it just was not fabulous. It was really cold that day and the restuarant was FREEZING! We actually rescheduled the ADR bc when we got there I found out the belly dancer was not dancing until later and that is the whole reason we chose it. Food was okay. I have friend that is from Egypt and often prepares Middle Eastern cuisine for me, and it lacked something or my friend is just an awesome cook. On the plus side service was awesome!

my husband and I went there last year. We kept putting it off because we were not sure about it. It was one of the best dinners we ever had. The waiters were great. They had a belly dancer and the food was fantastic. I would recomend it to anyone. Give it a try.;)

We went to Marrakesh in October. Service was awesome, very attentive, friendly, efficient, but not hovering. Food was good - flavorful, without being overpowering spicy. Meats were tender - we both had lamb, but different dishes and they were both good. Kids' menu had regular chicken fingers, but also vegetable couscous, a plus in my opinion. Dishes came with generous amount of veggies. Belly dancer was entertaining and the restaurant itself is very pretty. We do like North African and Middle Eastern food in general, so we tend to favor restaurants with menus like Marrakesh's. I would say to give it a try! :thumbsup2

Dd and I went here 2 years ago and loved it. I truly think its a hidden secret because ADRs are easy to get and they generally have walk ups. We actually ate there because we changed our plans and were hungry and walked right in.
DD was 9 then and I allowed her to order from the adult menu. She got Chicken Kebobs and devoured them and the couscous. I had a beef couscous meal that had almonds and raisins in it that was yummy. Servings were big .
Service was great and everyone was nice but we did have an odd experience. Dd is diabetic and on an insulin pump and when she was giving herself insulin all the servers who saw it came over and asked questions and kind of stared. DD doesnt mind when people ask but it was still kind of odd. When they came over alot of people started looking too.. nothing like being on display while you eat.
We loved it though and it was one of the top places DD wanted to return to.

We thought the setting was stunning and the belly dancer was great, but the food was mediocre...not nearly as tasty as we had expected. I would be willing to give it another try, but it's not on the top of my list of places to which to return.

We *just* went this past March 6th. There is a Morrocan band that plays and belly dancers. The service was really great, and the food was quite good too. DW had Shish-kebab, and I had Chicken-Kebab. She had the Baklava for dessert and I had the dessert bastilla. All good stuff.

We went there in 2008, and really liked it!! It was a new experience.:goodvibes

We ate there last June, and enjoyed it! The entertainment was great, the food was tasty, but the service was lacking. It took forever to get our check and get out of there. We enjoyed it other than that!

We've eaten there several times over the years and we've always had a good meal. My son is a big shish kabob fan so that's what he always gets, and I love the lamb cous-cous. Service has always been good, the ambiance, the music and the belly dancer ,ake it fun and we plan on eating there again in June. It is milder than what you would find in Morrocco but most of Disney's international fare is made milder to appeal to the masses but it's still very flavorful. i.e. I always request this hot sauce mix that I put on my cous-cous, you just have to ask for it.

We really enjoy the Restaurant Marrakesh. It is a beautiful restaurant, the servers are warm and friendly, and the food is great. We enjoy the entertainment too.
We try to eat here every trip.

Our family loves this restaurant. :thumbsup2 We went to WDW a few weeks ago and while I stayed back at the resort with our daughter my husband and son went to DHS and then had dinner at Marrakesh. My husband reported back that it was just as good as it always has been and that the belly dancer was fantastic. My husband had the chicken with preserved lemons and LOVED it and my son ordered the shish kebabs. My husband couldn't believe how much our son ate. :lmao: Our son also tried the mint tea and thought the way the server presented the drink was awesome. We will definitely have this on our ADR list for next year. :goodvibes

The restaurant is great , the food is 'meh' ... if they could combine the quick service, Tangerine Cafe, with the restaurant, it would be PERFECT.

Definitely worth going to if you enjoy this type of food ... which I do.

I have been there 3 times for dinner, each time the food was very good and the atmosphere is nice. We have found our servers to be very open to chatting about their homeland which enhances any dining experience in the w.s. The past Feb. when we ate there our teens wanted to make some substitutions with their meals and the server was more than happy to oblige. Also the bread is very good there, it is served with butter. DH asked the bread server what would that bread be served with in Morrocco and he said "olive oil, I will bring you some from the kitchen". He seemed so pleased that he was asked!

Thanks to all who have replied. Picture looks great. So many different choices than what we are used to!! Confirmed our dinner reservation in April. One more thing--does anyone know what time the belly dancer show starts?? Okay--well two questions. Is the band the same one that plays outside the building when walking around. They are fantastic!! TIA:goodvibes

I don't think it is the same musicians.

This is a MUST-DO on our list. We have a tradition to eat here on our first evening at WDW. We love it!
