Has anyone heard anything about Disney putting an eatery in the town area near EE? It looks like the perfect setting. :cool1:

Well, there is the Flame tree BBq.. :teeth: It is the best!!!!

They could certainly use a good TS restaurant in the area, that's for sure.

Landry, a national restaurant chain operator, is building an "Asian-themed" restaurant in the Asia section of Animal Kingdom Park, to be open in 2007 or 2008. Don't expect anything authentic -- these are the folks who build and operate Rainforest Cafes. Also, don't expect this restaurant to be a TS option on the dining plan.

Ah. I haven't been there to see the area yet (less than 3 weeks to go for me - wahooooooo) but saw something about EE and the townlike area around it on Discovery and it seems like it could handle a "base town" type eating place. Kind of like one of the places imagineers went when researching or something.

We have Flame Tree on our list for May :)

Well, not to slam Rainforest Cafe but if they did do a TS in Asia, it prob couldn't be even close to authentic and then what do you have? another noodle house? Top ramen? LOL. I'd prob still eat there but something like Tibeten food might be cool. (Not sure what Tibeten food is like but I like food so . . .) Or maybe authentic, non-Americanized Chinese or something? Just a thought. If I were president imagineer . . . . ;)

another noodle house? Top ramen?
That's my fear. I suspect that's what we can reasonably expect.

If I were president imagineer . . . . ;)
Incidently, the imagineers won't make up the menus. The chefs at Landry's will do that.

Well, I'll be optimistic for now. I'm sure it will be absolutely beautiful and maybe the food won't be too bad, either. A couple steps up from Top Ramen, at least. :goodvibes

And, even if it is top ramen, could there ever be a better place to eat it? EE here we come!
