We'll be celebrating my dad's b-day during our upcoming trip. I have made reservations at California Grill, but the mixed reviews have me wondering if it's worth it. We all prefer light dinners.

Any other nice/signature restaurant you would recommend? (outside of the parks)

Thanks!

Flying Fish. It’s beautiful, elegant, but with a comfortable, happy vibe. The most recent
review on EasyWDW describes ordering a steak and a twin lobster tail supplement that the servers will nicely get split into two separate dishes for two diners.

The appetizers like the pork belly, fried oysters, mussels, etc. are crazy good. I’d split a couple of those with the table, and do the steak/lobster supplement with another member of my party. 10% off with AP or Disney Visa.

Later on for dessert, I’d hit up Ample Hills or Beaches & Cream-to-go for ice cream.

If you aren’t on the dining plan, consider bluezoo at the Dolphin. It’s excellent and doesn’t seem like a heavy meal IMHO.

Or keep Cali and perhaps just order apps or share entrees. In terms of food, it’s not my favorite but the view is spectacular.

Artist Point or Narcoossee's are both better than California Grill IMHO. There is also Raglan Roads for a nice dinner with live entertainment.
