does anyone have any experience with Restaurant.com? Good or bad feedback? I happened to stumble across the website and saw that I could purchase $25 gift certificates by paying $10 at some restaurants....but just wondering if there is a catch?
any info would be appreciated!!

We've used them pretty often, and as long as the restaurant involved will honor the certificates- it's a great deal.

I had quite a few, and some of the restaurants went under faster than I could use the certificates. Restaurant.com usually rolled their value into another usable certificate though.

A large number of the restaurants are now instituting stricter guidelines for what you can use your GC for. For a $25 certificate you typically need to spend at least $35. I have one GC left of an older type. Party of at least two was it's only restriction. We go there for Sunday Brunch and our bill is usually about $28. They get the $25 GC and we pay the balance with a good tip. It's a buffet- but we tip well so we get great service!

I usually wait for the 'special' codes- so I usually pay half price for my GCs. The last batch I bought were $5 for $25 GCs.

HTH!!!

Sign up for emailed specials, and you'll get them too (as you can see above).

Good Luck!

Any experience w/ restaurants that are offered in Orlando, anyone? There are 3 pages of them listed. Location and dining experience information would be most appreciated!

I just ordered a dozen certificates. I used one in Atlantic City (I see staceyfe that you are from NJ). I used it at the new The Sound of Philadelphia restaurant in the Tropicana Quarter. I got it with a 60% off discount code so I think I paid $4 for a $25 certificate. It worked just fine (of course, we ordered $65 worth of food). I plan to give the other certificates out to relatives for Christmas.

I just started using them, no problems at all. 68790 is a current code for 60% off, this is good until October 31st.

The code from the above post (51366) is expired. Does anyone have any recent ones?

Thanks!

I just got this one in an email today for 60% off

Thanks!

Five $25 certs for $20.00!!!

I got a couple for Boston area restaurants they were $25 certificates and I got them for $10. There are restrictions on them, such as no Saturdays or Holidays. I've used mine with no problem, just present to waitress before you order. I'm planning on searching for more, I think they are a great deal!

I've bought them for Orlando restaurants. I've used them at Le Peep, which is a very nice restaurant near Universal.

We used one at Baskervilles in Grovesnor Hotel back in June of 2004. I think I paid 10.00 with a code and got a 50% off coupon. We had a party of six adults and 3 children and we saved a ton of money. There were no complaints about the food from our group. Admittedly I'm not a picky or particularly sophisticated eater but my DIL is and she was okay with everything. The audience participation dinner show was a blast. I think the cast may have had second thoughts about including DD in the proceedings. Let's just say she threw herself into the part with gusto!

I just bought 6 certificates with the code that Auggietina gave us for $24.00!

Im going to use the first one tonight and then they would have already paid for themselves (since they are worth $25.00 each)

If it goes over well and I have no trouble I will buy more for future use.

I noticed in the "rules" that you can't use another cert at the same restaurant within a month, and you can't use 2 certs even if you are splitting the check between 2 couples.

Thought I would mention this for anyone that hasn't used them before (like me!)

Quoting myself to ask a question...

For those of you that use the certs often, how does this once per month rule work? If I were to use one today would i have to wait 30 days from today to use one at the same location or do I have to only wait until the first of next month?

TIA!

I've bought a few in the past and I've never had trouble using them. They used to go up on Ebay as auctions too. I remember winning a $25 one for a deli for like $2. That worked out awesome!

Does anyone have a valid coupon code for this site? Every code that I try comes up expired.

We use them at local restaurants. You have to read the fine print on each offer, they are all different. We haven't had any problems using them.
