Restaurant.com

We decided to try 2 certificates this time last year. Both were $25 which we bought for $1. We went to the restaurant on a Sat only to be told they don't accept them on weekends (not on the restrictions on the certificate). So we went back on a weekday. Ate our meal and the server took the certificate. He came back and told us it had already been used. We ended up paying the full price for a 2nd time. I email Restaurant.com who said I had to take it up with the restaurant that it had been validated the night we were in there. I called the restaurant who admitted they had lied about it. Needless to say we will never buy Restaruant.com certificates again

To avoid this problem in the future (for those who may use these certificates) present your coupon before ordering. I have the restaurant ok use of the coupon so there are no surprises later.

It seems that your problem was with the restaurant, not restaurant.com, which has very good customer service. They will even let you exchange a certificate if you decide you don't want to use it for any reason. (I am guessing that this may change in the future so if you have unwanted certificates, exchange them now.)

btw you would have been able to see that the coupon had already been used if you had checked your restaurant.com account. Once a certificate is phoned in, it should come off the 'available certificates' list on your account. (Your post is confusing because it said you tried to use 2 certificates. Maybe you can explain that better.)

We did present it before ordering. It was sitting at the table and he acknowledged it. The guy took it after we had eaten and then called on the case of when they said it was invalid. On the case of when they said they didn't accept them on weekends, we had already sat down so we felt obligated to stay.

You are right that my post was confusing about buying 2. We used the first one without incident at the same restaurant on a week day about 2 months before the incident where they didn't accept them on the weekends and a few weeks before they lied about it being invalid. We haven't been back since.

I bought one for outback in Buena Vista. $75 off purchase of $150. We'll have a large party so we'll have no problem spending $150. Got a groupon for Giordano's and used mypoints to get gift cards to rainforest cafe. Should be able to eat at some favorite places pretty cheaply this trip :)

I know in past threads just like this one people have gotten confused about this restaurant thinking it's Outback Steakhouse.I think the restaurant even changed it's name to the Outback Steaks and seafood from the Outback restaurant to ease the confusion.I'm not saying you thought it was Outback Steakhouse but I'm just posting this for someone in the future.
