Restaurant.com question

DH and I just had lunch at our favorite little Mexican Restaurant. When I gave them my $10 Certificate, they said "sorry, we stopped taking these in April". I had bought 4 I believe back in Jan. for I think 75% off, this was my last one and I'm sure we've used 1 or 2 since April. But we didn't argue as the food is excellent and we would like to return without hard feelings. The certificate says it never expires, so should I contact Restaurant.com? Is it even worth it? Has this happened to anyone else?

You can exchange them on restaurant.com for something else. I've had this happen when a restaurant has gone out of business, or I bought for a vacation destination and never used it, and the exhange process was pretty painless.

You should have told them about the certificate before sitting as they can stop accepting them at anytime.Its very easy to exchange the certificates just go to your account and if restaurant.com knows about them not accepting them anymore there should be a link that lets you exchange them.If it doesn't show that send them a message to let them know but even then you will still be able to exchange them.I've had some where I go the certificates and didn't like the place and went home and exchanged it.I actually don't think I've bought one in like 4-5 years but I still have about 10-12 certificates for restaurants.Back then I loaded up as deals were much better than today,many more better restaurants as well.They had $25 certificates that normally sell for $10 at 90% off so the certificates were $1 each and for really good places,today you'll never see them at that price and the good restaurants aren't in their system anymore.That's why I still have so many available I don't use them or I'm exchanging them because I didn't like the place or the place stops accepting them and I can't find anything else worthwhile to exchange them for.
