Restaurant.com-does the cert. say that it's discounted on it?

I'd like to give some out as gifts for the holidays. Does it say anywhere on the certificate that I paid a discount for it? (I'm cheap, but I don't want everyone to know it)

I don't think so - I think it just had the dollar amount of the certificate.

I have the one for Baskervilles in the Grosvenor. I printed it from the computer. It does not indicate the price I paid, only the discount it is good for.

It also does not indicate who purchased it or that it is for any one person. I have had a debate with someone in the past as they insisted it had the purchasers' name on it and it could only be used by the person who purchased it. That is NOT the case. Once purchased, anyone can use them. They are a GREAT gift idea!!

I gave my parents one for a local restaurant for Dad's B'day. Apparently, new owners came in and were not going to accept them. My mom called to give 'em call, and the restaurant owners said, "well, you only paid X.XX for it anyway". How bad was that? She ended up being able to use it, but by then she knew how much I paid.

The restaurant.com GCs are a great deal but I would never give them as a gift because there are conditions on the gc like a coupon. For example, can't be combined with other coupons. Only one gc allowed per month. Only valid if you spend $XX.XX or if you have four or more in your party...
I don't know if they have any that are true gift certificates but all of the ones I have purchased have had conditions.

It was quite unprofessional of the restaurant to declare the actual cost.They choose to participate to bring in new clients, like paid advertisement. When a restaurant changed owners, I received an email informing me that the coupon would not be accepted and I received a refund.

I have bought 45 this year and used them all over the country, for pleasure and for business entertainment ( and for Christmas gifts.)

My family and friends have loved them, and appreciate the thought and good value, often buying for themselvesl
