The code is "touchdown" and it is only good through 9/13! I'm going to get a House of Blues one for our adults only trip in January!!:thumbsup2

something that I wanted to mention

I noticed that some $25 certificates regularly sell for different amounts $10. $12.5o, $15.00 & $17.50 ( which was one I had wanted)

BUT if you buy a generic gift certificate for $2.00 with the sales they have each month & you can turn around & purchase any regular $25.00 certificate for your fav restaurant.

but. there is a big chance they could be out of certificates at that time. what ya do is log on the 1st day of the month when new ones are available & then buy what you want. also something I learned. they supply different amounts for the PURCHASE ones than they do the ones you can trade a gift certificate in for.
I missed out last month on one I wanted because they told me they are sold out by NOON on the 1st day of the month! (although the regular were still available for another few days) . so be prepared to get up early to get yours!

and be prepared to debate. We have found that, even though we carefully only change the restaurant.com ones to restaurants that don't Exclude Alcohol, we've been refused at every single one. On the rare occasion that dh and I get out alone, our bill is only high enough to use the cert if we each have a drink and we order appetizers.

Sort of bummed, I have to find more people to go out with us just to use our certs.

I didn't know about these issues, but thanks for giving us the code.

:)

I've never used restaurant.com, but would like to try it out. I'm concerned by the restrictions on the certificates. For example: a place offers $10 certificates with "Minimum purchase of $20. Excludes: Alcohol, Other Offers/Promotions." So, we would be spending way more than $20. I'd like to get four $10 certificates. Question #1: Can I combine them or is this another "promotion" that is excluded. Question #2 Does this mean I'd have to spend a minimum of $20 for every certificate, i.e. $80?

All help is appreciated!

When ordering the certificates you need to be very aware of the restrictions as all certificates are different. If you order a $10 cert. with the code you are spending a whopping $2.00. You dine at the restaurant making sure your order amounts to the minimum required. You can only use ONE coupon, and it usually can't be combined with any other coupon or offer and only one coupon per table. No pulling up other tables for friends with coupons. Alcohol is usually not covered in the minimum required. You enjoy your meal, and when the bill comes, you present the $10 certificate. You are basically saving $8.00. They adjust your bill, and off you go - knowing you can only visit that place once per month with a coupon! Sometimes the dinners won't reach the minimum (most of the time they do) so you order a side dish, an appetizer, dessert-whatever. We look at it as a chance to try new places, and a chance to splurge on an app or dessert. We use the certificates all the time. How can you go wrong?

We recently used one for a Japanese place, dining Hibachi style. I actually felt quilty using the certificate knowing I was getting basically a BOGO dinner. The people sitting next to us paid full price for two dinners. My DH had no complaints!

If I buy several House of Blues certificates, can I use them in Orlando and where I live? Or are they location specific?

Just an FYI on the House of Blues, I bought one for an unplanned trip to Disney, hoping to go to the Gosspel Brunch; however, when I printed the Certificate it is NOT valid for the brunch. Hope that helps someone

I've noticed that some certificates state one cert. per table, while others do not. If it does NOT state on cert., one per table, can I use two $25.00 to pay my bill? And does my minimum purchase have to be $35 or $70 to use both certs.? (When it states $35 minimum)

I really want to buy some for the House of Blues, but want to know exactly how to use them before I buy.:thumbsup2 TIA

someone else answered most of this , but I'll something.
you need to look at the menus beforehand to get an idea of what you will be spending. & yu can never figure , no matter what is excluded off the certificate, that you may have to pay for alcohol.
for a $25 one, you can get 2 burgers, one app & one dessert easily to get up to the 25 at most places. we decide to get the dessert to go. it may look like you are puchasing more, but . hey, $25 for $2??? really worth it! you were gonna go out & drink & eat without the certificate weren't you? just figure this all a bonus.
from all I have read, they are pretty firm on only ONE certificate per table/group.
I think , though, maybe, if your group has their own purchased certificates, you can at least use several in a months time ( where you can only go once), & maybe ignore them at another table, & they can go also at the same time.... (lol)

I'd love to also know about the certificates that do NOT state only ONE per table if they can be used. but I highly doubt it. a friend wanted to use one for house of blues by himself & they told him NO you had to purchase a min of 2 entrees....... well wtheck...descriminate for single patrons!
I think they can add their own rules to the certificates. I am now glad thought they don't expire!

Among many of the restrictions they have some of them also adds gratuity automatically so keep and eye on those too. What surprises me are the minimum spending amount of $100+. That's not really a certificate in my opinion.

It is not a fully flexible deal.

Thanks, I ordered a few at the Swan and Dolphin for our next trip!

When you say "few" how many were you planning on using for your trip? Most places only allow using one certificate per month. Please make sure of your restrictions if you were planning on going more often.

OP, thank you for the post, I just took advantage. $3 for a $25 certificate at BB Kings!
