Restaurant At Swan/dolphin

We are staying at this resort, what restaurants are good and worth the money. Also, any buffet style? We have the food credit and need info on where to eat. thank you

Never used the food credit thing, but as to restaurants, two good ones are Shula's at the Dolphin, and Palio at the Swan.

Our favorites for our family - DS 9 and DD 6 when we stayed at the Dolphin. Going back in 2005.

Tubbies in the Dolphin - great for families. Cafeteria
style - you select your food & use trays. Food ranges from pizza, hot meals, salads, frozen treats, kid selections - open 24
hours a day. Also has a sundries area, sells snacks and
quarts of milk (do your own cereal in your room in the AM).
Refillable mugs are bought and used at Tubbies.
Good for lemonade, soda, iced tea, tea and coffee.

Dolphin Fountain- great sandwhiches, burgers. The kids meals come in a 1950 Chevy paper car, drinks, chips, and ice cream
also included in kids meal. The Dophin Fountain makes great
ice cream sundaes and other assorted ice cream desserts.
Great bakery selection too. A juke box plays 50 & 60 songs.
They staff does a 50's dance every 30 minuntes or so to
entertain the guests. My DH video taped them.
Just like a 'sock-hop'.
If you have a pickey child- let them get something at Tubbies
around the corner and bring it back to the Dolphin Fountain.
Then the family can eat the Fountain, while the pickey
child eats from their Tubbie meal. That is what our DD did one
day. She wanted scrambled eggs for lunch. My DS wanted a
burger in a Chevy car. My DH & myself wanted a Fountain BLT.
I think they are only open for lunch and dinner. Not sure about
breakfast.

BEST COFFEE - at the coffee bar by the escalators, off the
main lobby in the Dolphin. You can not use the refillable mugs
here- but my DH, coffee drinker, says it's the best.


Gullivers in the SWAN - just a fast walk across a covered
pathway - great bufffets - changes each night.
Most nights they have 2 characters wondering around
(Mr. Sneed, Captian Hook, Rafiiki,....). The other nights
there is a person who will make balloon creations for the
kids. Ask for the buffet and character schedule when you
arrive. Make a PS at least 24 hours before- but may not
be required depending on the time of day.
The buffets have ranged from Italian, fish, bar-b-q,....

We did not eat in Shula's. It's not for kids.

If you have a Disney Club Card you get 20% off all meals
at the Swan/Dolphin till Dec 31, 2003. - EXCEPT SHULA's.


I hope the above helps. It's not all the places to eat,
but it's the best kids places to eat at the SWAN/DOLPHIN.

HINT: the Dolphin has the game room and it is located
next to the only laundry.

I had lunch at the Garden Grove Cafe (It changes it's name to Gullivar's for dinner). The room is very large and impressive and pleasant. The lunch menue had a nice variety of items and the food was good as was the service. It is not a spectacular experiance but it was good and not real expensive.

Palio at the Swan is one of our all time favorite places. I've been with and without kids and we love it always.
I'd love to try Shula's next vacation if for nothing but the Chocolate Souffle people rave about!
