Sadly my beloved Hamish passed away on Friday. He was a Guinea Pig I took in from a family member who didn't want him anymore. Their kids got bored with him and he was left in the basement. I brought him home Christmas Day 2001. I never thought I would get so attached to him. I kept him in my office near my desk. He was my little buddy. Always chattering away to me while I worked on the computer. We'd share snacks together. He'd toss things around his cage to get my attention. I think he was about 2.5 years old when I brought him home so he had a long life dying at almost 7 years of age. I'm glad he's not suffering anymore but I really miss him. My office seems so empty now. :guilty:

:grouphug: to you. I'm sorry about Hamish. That's a handsome picture of him! Seven is quite old for a guinea pig, so he did live a good long life. I knw you'll really miss him. :grouphug:

One of our guinea pigs died just before Christmas. We were away on vacation and my aunt was taking care of my daughter's two guniea pigs, Rapunzel and Cinderella. They were both five years old, and we'd had them since they were babies. Daughter felt especially bad because she wasn't here when it happened.

We worried how Cinderella would do without Rapunzel, but she's feisty as ever. I know what you mean about all the little squeals and noises you'll miss.

Awwwww, {{{{{Hamish}}}}}. :grouphug:

I'm so sorry for your loss. These little furbabies sure have a way of melting our hearts, don't they?

That was very generous of you to take him and give him a good home. I'm sure he knew he was in good, loving hands.

May your happy memories of Hamish bring you some comfort during this difficult time.

:grouphug: I'm so sorry. Its so easy to get really attached to those cute little furries. I know that whenever I see one my heart just melts. :grouphug:

Awwwwwwwwww :grouphug: I was like that too when I lost my hamster. They're so sweet and cute.

7 is extremely old for a GP. I suggest a new one. They are far more loving than most people realize. Ours are now almost 6 (april and may) and they are going strong.
