Does anyone know offhand what percentage of response cards they didn't receive? My "groomzilla" is getting nervous...our venue wants a count by next Saturday, September 10. We sent out 35 invitations/71 people a month ago. The responses had our address preprinted and we put stamps on them. We've only received 21 responses/41 people. I have a few that I'm positive won't respond at all , but most of the missing have indicated to either me or my MIL that they received the invitation.

It's been over a week since we received anything. Groomzilla is threatening to start calling people this week. I personally think the venue wants things too early, but not much I can do about that except explain that to our guests.

Did you put a "please respond by ..." (or something similar) on the response card? We gave our guests a month to respond and allowed a week for mailing. We got a good deal of responses right away and the rest waited until right near or shortly after the deadline.

There is no harm in a pleasant "reminder" to respond text/e-mail/phone call if you need the numbers. :goodvibes

We put "Please respond on or before September 10, 2011" on the cards. I just figured that there will be some people who won't know what they want to eat a month out...heck, I'm not sure if I'll want my choice!

I hate to blame this all on my fiance, but he's worse than I am when it comes to this wedding...who'd have thought that the groom would be in such a state? But that's another thread... :teeth:

I don't think you can really chase people until after the RSVP date and they've still got a week to go.

If you're still that far out from you rsvp deadline you're doing better than we did. We sentout 87 invites for our wedding (not at disney), by the time the deadline came I think we had gotten back just over half. All said and done we received about 2/3 back. I was irritated by that and wished I had made the deadline sooner. Even with all that we still had 12 people (most of them fairly close relatives!) Decide to no show day of wedding that had rsvped

I hope the count the venue wants that day isn't a "hard number"? You will definitely get some cards back after that if that's also your rsvp deadline. We had at least a week in between rsvp deadline and first count due and that was not enough.
