Responding to an invitation

How long should you wait after the RSVP on an invitation to a Wedding Reception to contact the people to see if they are coming? We have several people who haven't responded yet. I don't know if we should count them in the final count or not.

For anyone wondering why it is only a Reception invitation that's because we got married in July in a tiny ceremony.

Our Reception is the 15th.

If you haven't received anything from people are special to you and you want to know for sure, I would call them right away. For people that if could go either way, I would count them out. However, because I hate being short on anything, I would request one or two extra tables set up and decorated.

I would call and simply express that you need a final head count because of food arrangements and that you are not trying to put someone on the spot.

You might want to have someone from the family call.
I know when we got married the ones that did not RSVP we had a family member call.
The ones on DH side we had his mom call and the ones on my side my dad took care of.

You can call the next day. I would say you were afraid they did not get the invite. I always respond as soon as I get the invitation or I might forget.
