Resorts

It's so subjective. DH is a huge OKW fan. But we walked in to BWV once, and he shook his head and announced to me "Don't you ever make me stay HERE!" Yet, I know there are lots of BWV lovers (I stayed there solo several times-OK with me). And I'll bet you'll find many people who've stayed at OKW and said "Nope, not gonna stay here again!" Everyone has their faves and non-faves.

Best resort to stay at?
There isn't an overall best resort. It depends on which one you like the most. I like the Epcot resorts, so that I can walk to HS and Epcot. Those are my "best" resorts.

Watch some YouTube video tours. Best way I know to decide which one you prefer if you don't already know from staying in a resort's hotel section.

Best resort to stay at?
Great question, but can you elaborate? Do you know what kind of a trip you want? Do you want to stay on the monorail, near Epcot, near Disney Springs? Do you want something laid back or scenic? Cost no object, or important?

NOT SSR! It's a dump. I could stretch and touch the balcony next door. A one bedroom balcony is a sliver of space with two chairs and a tiny round table. I went to the pool today and it's just second rate. Lots of concrete - no landscaping, no detailing.

I think you’re spoiled by OKW. None of the other resorts have balconies larger than SSR - only OKW has those wonderful balcony dining rooms. And which pool did you go to? The Paddock and High Rock Springs pools have lots of landscaping and detailing. I don’t think those features make SSR a dump.

That said, Buzz3 is earning their ears, and I’m not sure they care about any of the responses here, just in increasing their post count.

I think all DVC resorts are great to stay at. I have been to BLT, AKL, VGF, RIV, SSR and OKW, plus HHI and VB. This September I will add the Poly. I have enjoyed every stay. We have done non park stays too.

It depends on what you are looking for at the time of your vacation. Like are you going park heavy, just relaxing, have kiddies, or are you a foodie. Also, time of year. WL and GF are gorgeous at Christmas.
Non park trip, SSR is fantastic for it’s proximity to Disney Springs. Or do you want the beach, but want that Disney service and Magic, then VB or HHI.

Can’t wait to go to Aulani and someday Beach Club and Boardwalk, these two are hard to get a reissie.

I can’t wait till see the new tower at Poly and any other future expansion.😎👍🏻💫✨

Some of the balconies at VGF2 will be tiny, just a small square balcony. The SSR ones will be considered to be large. DVD did mess up the balconies at SSR. They should be larger and a 1 bedroom should have 2 and a 3 bedroom should have 3, like Kidani. The GV’s at SSR get a small balcony too. Don’t blame SSR, blame DVD, they designed and built it. I guess we can be grateful there are balconies, most rooms at DLT will not have them.

SSR is great when you want to get away from the action and be in a chill neighbourhood. Love the refurbed rooms as well. Staying in Congress Park and walking to Disney Springs is great. It's probably around halfway down my list of all DVC properties at WDW. My teen daughter loves it as well. But to each their own, right? That's why they're not all the same. Something for everyone.

I agree,,,,praise and sing it loud,,,,,That way I can get my room everytime without any issues at any time of the year. lol The beauty of DVC and the different resorts is there is something for all. Some hate AKL because it is "far from all parks"...in reality its far from MK,,,but the other parks its really not that far. For BLT it is far from AK and DHS. It is all relevant to how one looks at it.
Look at WL that loads love,,,only bus to all parks,,,or boat to MK,,,ugg the transportation option sucks,,,,but really its a great resort.
