Resorts with sleeping for 2 adults and 2 teens

of different sexes. Basically we need either 2 queens and a daybed or a queen and bunk beds. We don't really want a roll away if possible. I know the Contemporary has the daybeds but who else.

AKL has some rooms with queen bed and bunk beds (we have requested that room type for our fall trip). I know at least one other resort has them as well, but I can't remember which!

The deluxes have 2 Queens and a daybed, which was comfortable for one of my teens. At AKL, we had a queen bed, 2 bunks, and a daybed. At the Fort Wilderness cabins, there was a very comfortable pull-down Murphy bed the adults slept on in the living room, a double and 2 bunks in the bedroom. Depending on the size of your kid, POR has 2 doubles and a trundle, I ended up on it one night, but it was OK because I sleep on my side, curled up.

Thanks a lot. My son is about 6 ft tall and DD is about 5 7. The rollaway is pretty tough on them but the bunks or daybeds are great.

We're splitting our stay between the Wilderness Lodge and the Polynesian, partly for the same reasons you mentioned. Both of our teens are boys, but they won't sleep in the same bed. Also, we've been wanting to stay at these resorts, so the extra bed is just an added feature for us.

The Wilderness Lodge has bunk beds, and the Polynesian has 2 queens and a daybed. The Grand Floridian has 2 queens and a daybed, as well.

We have toted one with us on our last two trips. It was a lifesaver. Both teenage sons were much more comfortable. It was easy to use and deflated quickly to stash away.

Yep. Actually bought an aero bed 2 summers ago for our trip. To make a very long story short, it must have had a leak somewhere. We'd fill it, DS would go to sleep and wake up on the floor the next morning. We ended up getting a rollaway. I returned the aero bed as soon as we got home.

About a year ago we switched to two connecting rooms at Pop Century so the teens would have their own bed. There are also two bathrooms and two TVs so there isn't any fighting.

I think a daybed is available at BC, YC, BWI, CR, GF, Poly in standard rooms. AKL and WL have deluxe rooms that would accomodate you. We just went with our different sex teens in January and had two connecting rooms at POR. Two bathrooms are a plus!!! It worked out well. A few nights it ended up being girls in one room and guys in another so they could watch sports before bed and us girls could watch something else.

Aren't the bunk beds each a regular twin size? I thought they were...

Yup, the bunkbeds at AKL are twin sized.

Thanks! My two teen sons are BIG kids, and they sleep just fine in their twin beds at home, so I'm sure they'll be fine in the bunk beds at WL

I don't think it's the length of the bed as much as it is the headspace.

You've got big boys there, Terry, and I raised my eyebrow when I read bunkbeds. Your sons would not be comfortable in my boys' bunkbeds. My boys have just about grown out of their bunkbeds.

Thanks for your opinion, Karel! Especially since you've met my DSs in person Ahh...memories of the cruise.....

Anyway, back to this trip! LOL We'll be at the Wilderness Lodge for only 2 nights, so hopefully the bunk beds will be OK for that short period. Then we'll be moving to the Polynesian where DS17 will have a queen bed to himself, and DS14 will have the day bed.

P.S. When you say "headroom", do you mean that the top bunk is too high, too close to the ceiling?? I've already told Robby (younger DS14), that he'll be the one on the top bunk...so hopefully he'll be ok. He's fine with smaller spaces, it's my older DS17 who's a bit on the claustrophobic side.

I'm going to watch my the copy of "Great Hotels - The Wilderness Lodge", that I have, and check out those bunk beds again. lol

We'll be staying at the BC so our teen boys have the advantage of bigger beds! We chose the day bed over the trundle bed at POR. The trundle was a great option when they were little, but alas, they grew!

We stayed in 2 different bunk rooms (one standard and one savanna view) at AKL in May. Our 13 yo ds slept on the bottom, and his 2 siblings (4 yo and 2.5 yo) slept up top. We didn't request the bunks; and, based upon what I'd read on here, didn't think I'd have any chance of getting one. We were pleasantly surprised by this arrangement.
