2. A Southwest Airlines boarding pass. Boarding passes are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

That is true, BUT, they are allocated between the different areas.
If your premise is correct all A passes should be gone with the advent of online check in and that is not the case.

i do recall, once in buffalo, someone who checked in at the gate saying they had received an A borading pass but not sure about that as a fact

If a person with an "A" boarding pass cancels his reservation an "A" boarding pass becomes available for the next lucky PAX even if the sytem is currently issuing "C" passes.

Gail is right SW allocates "A" passes.

Each Customer will be issued a boarding pass grouped by A, B, or C (in that order) based on when the Customer checked in at the Skycap Counter, Ticket Counter, Departure Gate, or RAPID CHECK-IN Kiosk (where available).

I'm not sure they'll continue to allocate the same number A passes to each location (assuming they currently are). As soon as BP become available for connecting flights there isn't a reason for anyone waiting to get a BP at the departure gate.

I asked this question at flyertalk.com

Someone suggested BP's are distributed equally between curbside, counter, online and gate. Is this true?

flyertalk.com has employees of SWA who lurk and answer.
(note the term "our planes")

This is best of replies:

They are not "equally disbursed", we are all pulling out of the same pool at the same time. At 20 minutes prior to departure time the only place you can get a boarding document is at the gate.

Most of our planes hold 137 passengers, there are a few still around that only hold 122. A's...1-45, B's...46-90, and the remaining are C's. When A's run out, B's start, then C's... There is always the winning of the lottery, when we are on C's and an A pops out, that means someone has canceled from a flight and voila, you are the winner of a surprise A

elsewhere it was mentioned that SW uses check-in time in case your flight is cancelled and you are put on a stand-by list for a future flight. They use the number on the BP as in: numbers 1-20 are put on this list.

Bottom line. All are pulled from same place-

45 A's are distributed first, then 45 B's, and then the remaining BP's which are C's.

No if's, ands, buts or could be's. This came from an employee of SW. Again facts instead of rumors.

Gail has been banned and can’t post. I suspect the information you posted is currently correct. I am curious why an anonymous person who claims to be a SW employee, posting on an unofficial basis, is a more reliable source than the SW employees that Gail personally spoke to? Several posters claim to be SW employees’ post in flyertalk and it is not unusual for one to correct one another.

When SW stopped using the boarding cards they stated A passes were being allocated among the various places. A poster in your thread confirmed this. I agree all indications are that the BP are now coming from the same pool.

I know the system is set up to reject a random number of on line reuests, for security reasons.

That information may be correct but just like WDW sometimes it depends on who you talk with the information you receive.

I find FlyerTalk a very great source of information and even then sometimes people can be misinformed.

Happy to not be flying Southwest....lol

Is there a place soomewhere that we can print out boarding passes at Disney? We will be staying at the POP all week. I read something about a conference center.
This is going to be my first trip to WDW and I am travelling alone with my DD 4 so if I can take care of the pass before we get to the airport, it will make my life a bit easier.
Thanks!

Coronado Springs has a business center where you can use their computer and print out your boarding passes.

The hotels with convention facilities will have this also.

Dolphin has a business center that's open 24/7. It's not staffed at night, you need a credit card and it cost a few dollars to print your pass.
