Can someone give me a definitive answer, several posts have said that the pools are heated, in my experience they haven't been. Am I just unlucky or is it just the deluxe resorts pools that are heated and not the moderates? I really want to do some swimming but my old bones can't take the chill !!

They are all heated. And how warm they feel really depends on the person. I've gone swimming with family who though the water was very warm, and it felt cold to me. It just depends on the person.

The pools are all heated, but it's not going to be like bath water. Different people perceive temperatures differently. So what is too cold to you might be too warm for someone else.

ALL of WDW pools are heated whether they are deluxe or value. It's the air temp. that can make a big difference in how it feels to you. Plus, like a PP said temps feel different to different people as our body temps. vary (and yes that is natural and a normal medical fact!). :thumbsup2

I know how you feel they feel cold to me too :confused3 Thats why I really like the hot tub even when it's hot outside ! I think they need turn up the heat a bit:rotfl:

As a true blooded southerner who doesn't do cold in any form or fashion, I agree.:rotfl: :rotfl: I go to WDW several times a year and frequently meet friends of mine from Conneticut and Massachusetts. Those pools always feel cold to me, but my friends from up north always say they feel great.:confused3

Dec 2010 I did a split stay at CSR and YC. I had recieved a great upgrade to a water/pool view corner room at CSR. My front window faced the lake and the side window faced the Cabana quiet pool. The pool was literally maybe ten steps from my door. I had to walk past that tempting pool every day going to the bus stop. Steam was always coming off of it. It was too cold that week to even think about stepping foot in a pool, yet I saw a few brave souls swimming in there. Brrrrr! When I switched over to YC, I was so disappointed I wouldn't be able to use Storm Along Bay. That was the main reason I booked the last part of the trip over there. I had planned on lounging around the resort the last day or two of my trip. Sorry no way was I stepping foot in that freezing water. Walking back from Epcot one night, I saw several people swimming. They had to be northerners. I was wearing a thick coat, hat, gloves, and a scarf with jeans and a sweatshirt and was still cold. lol So it's not just the values or moderates that feel cold. Steam was rising off the pool at BC/YC, yet there were still a few brave souls that were swimming. I never made it in the water that week. This southern gal doesn't do cold. Brrrr!

I'm a northerner and I thought POFQ's pool was freezing! We were there over Easter and it was unseasonably warm air temp, 93 or so, and I think the pool was heated but not NEAR enough to me. I had to pull my younger son out to warm up for awhile because his lips were turning blue. Another guest said a coworker of his had been at POFQ a few weeks prior when it was much colder air temps and they had found the pool to be very warm and inviting so he was really disappointed in how cold it was. I've always read that Disney's pools are all heated to some predetermined temp so maybe it's just the difference b/w air and pool temps that skews perception? We went offsite for the last part of our trip to Windsor Hills at a house with "free" pool heat where the owners had control of the temp and it was perfect. I could walk right in vs. the one agonizing step at a time approach at POFQ.

Same here. I like my water warm. I don't like to shiver going in. And this is why I prefer moderate and deluxe due to having a hot tub (Poly doesn't have one.), especially during winter.
