YEA! DH just agreed for a Thurs-Sun trip for the first week in Dec. We're going in Oct. with the kids, but this one will be for just us! We've got a possible weekend in May too, so this Dec. trip has REALLY got to be on a budget. My question is about the whole holiday theming of the resorts. Are the All-Stars decorated? I could possibly stay at a moderate. Which would be the best during this time? Our anniversary is Dec. 24, so this would be our anniversary celebration. Any ideas for making this a special trip?

The All Stars are decorated for the holidays, although not quite as splendidly as the deluxes!

We stayed at All Star Music and Port Orleans Riverside (as well as the Dolphin) during the holiday season last year, and it was very nice. We're doing All Star Music, Port Orleans Riverside and Pop Century this time.

Our anniversary is Dec. 30, so our Dec. trip is always our anniversary gift to each other.

You'll love the holiday season!

Beth

If I was to go with a moderate, I would choose the French Quarter - they have New Orleans type decorations. All of the resorts are decorated, based on their theme, including the All Stars. It's a great time to go.

Don't forget, even though you may not be staying at a deluxe it's just as much fun to visit. Take a nice ride along the monorail and check out the hotels on the loop. The GF is stunning at Christmas.

I was also told by a CM the other day that the Boardwalk had a chocolate village last year. And I believe it was the Beach Club that had a carousel made out of gingerbread. I'm gonna try to stop and see them this year. She also said that alot of the deluxes compete with each other over who can outdue the other with decorating.

In the past, there has been some real good deals for all the resorts. The All Stars is decorated. They are not as decorated as the deluxes. You can make a special time going around and seeing all the deluxes decorated out for the holidays. Many years ago I was able to stay at WL for prices of an All Star, but I don't think that is happening much anymore. If budget is a concern I would stay at the All Stars and make a point of seeing the deluxes and maybe spending the money on MVMCP and Candlelight Processional Dinner pacakge. We aregoing down on that Wed and coming home on Sun. Thee main things we love to do every year is CP and MVMCP. Also going around and checking out all the decorations at the resorts and how each country in EPCOT celebrate the season.

Thanks everyone for your replies. I made a reservation at ASMo. I also went ahead and ordered MVMCP tickets. We are definitely planning on spending our Saturday at Epcot. Is it really worth getting the dinner package for the CP?
