I have the Saturday after Thanksgiving and I'm looking for the day of Thanksgiving and Black Friday at VGF. Think it's possible for only two days?
Do rooms usually free up at the 31 day mark with people canceling last minute?
Resort we want to stay at is booked up and thought we would have a chance maybe at the 31 day mark.
If you have the WL run to 7 days out and check the website frequently I think you have a decent to good chance of success if you'll take 1 day at a time. But you might not get them until inside the 7 day window when the WL are gone.I have the Saturday after Thanksgiving and I'm looking for the day of Thanksgiving and Black Friday at VGF. There's seems to be some debate on this issue but at the end of the day is it doesn't run continuously and it's often that you'll get things show up online not matched to your waitlist that exactly mach you WL. So room that are canceled aren't held or immediately matched to the WL. It's also not done consistently from a timing standpoint. It appears to me it's a second tier job for those who have other primary responsibilities thus it'd be done when they had a chance. Is the wait list managed by a computer program or a person? Do they only run the wait list at certain times of the day? Curious how it works snagging a reservation before the wait list is run.
Based on my experience with other points-based timeshare, I'd say, "Yes, in general, I do think this happens quite frequently." My other points club lists a 30% turnover rate on reservations. However, this number would not be as high if you isolated reservations for newer properties or around holidays.Do rooms usually free up at the 31 day mark with people canceling last minute?
Ah, I doubt you'll be successful for a holiday weekend at the newest property. I'd definitely set this up "night by night" and be stalking the website if the dates are important to you. Have a backup plan in mind!I have the Saturday after Thanksgiving and I'm looking for the day of Thanksgiving and Black Friday at VGF. Think it's possible for only two days?
Yes, they do. But the new reservation should use those holding points unless the new reservation requires fewer points. If a waitlist comes through at less than 31 days, and you chose to replace an existing night with it, do those points go into holding even though you're replacing them with another night? Thanks![]()
