Hi all,

We are thinking of going to Disney during Christmas break of 2019. We have been several times in the summer. We absolutely love the Boardwalk with it's theming and location and the Wilderness Lodge is a close second. Anyway, what would any of you, who have been during the holidays, consider to be the best resort? Would love to hear your experiences and opinions. Thanks!

The BoardWalk is my favorite resort, and loved it during Christmas.

Both WL and BWI are beautiful resorts, but WL is our favorite during the holidays. You can't go wrong with either one as they are both great resorts, but during Christmas time, my choice would be the WL.

IMO, you cannot beat the GF for holiday decor and spirit. However, I will point out that the holiday decorations at all of the resorts are limited to the public areas, so any choice of resort would be fine. You can always visit the other resorts to see their holiday displays. In fact, I highly recommend it.

I stayed at Wilderness Lodge during the Christmas season last year. The lobby took my breath away it was so beautiful! I would not hesitate to stay there again during the holiday season.

I couldn’t pick between resorts, so I’m doing a 3-way split stay to take advantage of park proximity and decorations!
2-nights Animal Kingdom Lodge
4-nights Boardwalk
4-nights Wilderness

This sounds fantastic.

I’ve stayed in AK and BW and are booked to stay at WL this Xmas and I think you’ve got a really nice mix there.

Oh, also for OP - I would strongly consider staying in an Epcot area resort. Christmas break 2019 will be shortly after Star Wars Galaxy's Edge opens up, so there will be increased crowding and traffic heading to DHS. If I could be in walking (or boat) distance, I would take advantage of that!

Wilderness Lodge is one of our favorite resorts, but our absolute first choice when going around the holidays. To us none of the other resorts compare to the warm holiday feel of the lodge!

We typically love GF and stayed there last Christmas (well we checked out on Christmas, so the week leading up). Although it’s beautiful, I don’t know if we would stay there that exact week again. Crowds increase as the lobby becomes more of an attraction with the decorations, making monorail transportation not quite as convenient. There were days the line at monorail security was backed up all the way past the elevators. I like GF when it’s a little quieter. :)

Well the two most popular during the Christmas season are the WL and PR resorts. We have stayed at the GF, PR, WL and AKL during this time of the year. They were all very nice. For an iconic feel the PR and GF win. For a Rustic Christmas feel - the WL wins. The best one is the one that aligns to your expectations (theme/location)family), park and dining plans. When our daughter were younger the MK resorts were a better fit. Today, we have greater options and they also like the idea of using our park hopper tickets to leave the resort and enter Epcot to get a beverage, snack or shop...

While the BWI is our favorite resort, in my opinion, nothing compares to the Christmas feel of the WL lobby !

Wilderness Lodge is amazing for Christmas. Everything about the lodge exudes Christmas spirit. Also love grabbing a couch by a fire at one of the semi-private lounges above the entrance.

A very good point about Galaxy's Edge. We love the EPCOT location as we love walking around Wold Showcase at night sometimes. We would (hopefully) be staying in a villa on my parents' DVC points. We have stayed at BWV and WLV and I totally agree about the WLV at Christmas It looks amazing! We have never stayed at AKL and I am a little concerned about the location feeling remote to the parks.
