Besides Windsor Hill, Crestwynd Bay, and Bonnet Creek Which resorts/ condos are close enough for a mid day break?

One option would be Emerald Island. No condos but smaller townhomes. EI is only 3 miles from Disney (WH is 2 miles for example). EI is also cheaper than WH as it's slightly older. Worth consideration. Recommended website EmeraldIslandPrivateRentals .com

Hope that helps.

There are many. The Marriott resorts (Harbour Lake, Cypress Harbour, Grande Vista), Mystic Dunes, Encantada, Paradise Palms (for latter two use west entrance and its really fast), Indian Creek, etc. Go to Google maps, zoom on the disney world area and search for resorts. For vacation rental resorts you need to look on VRBO, HOmeaway, FLipkey etc. for good rates from owners.

the closest marriott timeshares to disney property are the palms resorts (sabal palms, royal palms, imperial palms). right around the corner from the DTD entrance to wdw property.

sheraton's vistana resort is also extremely close to the DTD entrance to wdw property. vistana villages is farther away but near the previous marriotts listed (harbour lake, grande vista).

Have you stayed at any of the Marriotts? We always stay on property, but considering using our timeshare there sometime. It's Interval International.

The Marriott timeshare resorts are among the very nicest in the Disney area. Cypress Harbour is our favorite. We also liked Sabal Palms at the Marriott World Center hotel complex. Grande Vista is pretty nice, too.

Thank you for that information....having never seen them, it's nice to hear from someone impartial who has.

I've stayed at one of the world center resorts (I think it was Sabal Palms but can't remember). I've also stayed at the actual Marriott World Center hotel on a separate occasion. The property is beautiful and has great facilities.

It's VERY close to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. The World Center Marriott properties are actually closer to Epcot, Hollywood Studios and the Magic Kingdom than the Animal Kingdom Lodge is.

It's also closer to Animal Kingdom than all the Magic Kingdom resorts.

That gives you an idea of the proximity - it was very convenient!

Are you asking me? My parents have Interval and I usually book a getaway through their account. Sometimes when we need more bedrooms we do vacation home resorts. But our favorites by far are Cypress Harbour and Harbour Lake.

Thank you very much for your response! I was very interested in any Interval info that I could get. It seems tricky so far.

Thank you! This is very useful information! Is Sabal Palms part of the Marriott World Center? If we do this, we have to be super close to the parks, especially Epcot and MK. I haven't stayed off property since the late 80's when there were no affordable places on site.

Yes - Sabal Palms is part of the world center complex. Now that I look at the info we actually stayed at Imperial Palms (which is also a part of the complex).
There's also a royal palms I believe too at the same address. My in laws got the place for all of us through Interval (2 different rooms and 12 total people). To get to ay of the theme parks you turn right out of the complex and you drive right into Disney world property and the signs take you from there.

The World Center property consists of the hotel and the three timeshare resorts. Unlike most timeshare resorts in general, and Marriott resorts in particular, these three don't have all of the normal timeshare amenities that a single resort would have. Instead, the three resorts share amenities to some degree. All three have pools, the typical Marriott Marketplace store is located at Royal Palms (and is a truncated version which I think is known as a Marketplace Express), I think that all three have at least one hot tub near the resort pool, I think that both Royal Palms and Sabal Palms have a small fitness center and an arcade room. There are barbecue grills typically located between buildings through each of the resorts. There are tennis courts and basketball courts between Royal Palms and Imperial Palm Villas and also at Sabal Palms. There are a couple of playgrounds at Royal Palms and one at Sabal Palms. Check-in for Imperial Palm Villas and Royal Palms is shared at Royal Palms while Sabal Palms has it's own separate check-in area. The activities program is split up so that each of the three resorts hosts some of the activities. Guests at any of the timeshare resorts may use the amenities at the hotel - three outdoor pools, one heated indoor pool, several restaurants, a food court, several shops, golf course. day spa, etc.

Imperial Palm Villas and Royal Palms are located next to each other at one end of the property while Sabal Palms is located directly behind the hotel (access by utility road that goes to the back of the hotel and to the hotel's parking garage). Imperial Palm Villas only has three-bedroom units. Sabal Palms only has two-bedroom units and I believe that's the case for Royal Palms as well. Being closest to the hotel makes Sabal Palms most convenient to the hotel's amenities (the day spa is actually closer to Sabal Palms than it is to most of the hotel. It's about 3/4 to a mile from Imperial Palm Villas and Royal Palms to the hotel (maybe slightly more than a mile from the further buildings at Royal Palms.

About 4.5 miles to Hollywood Studios, 5 miles to Epcot, 7 miles to TTC parking for the Magic Kingdom and perhaps as much as 7.5 miles to Animal Kingdom parking.

Silver Lake Resort is near to Animal Kingdom and would be easy to drive to. Epcot would be the farthest away. I have not stayed there but have read about it on these boards. We have stayed at Windsor Hills, Windsor Palms, Emerald Island and Sheraton :)
