Resortoholic - I need help!

I am definitely a resortoholic! ;) We have stayed at the GF, Poly, WL, YC, BCV, BWI, Swan, OKW, FW Cabins, CBR, POR, ASMu, and PC. ::yes:: So we only have a few left to try. ;)

Ok! Glad to know i'm NOT the only one who keeps a notebook. LOLOL. I have all my Disney notes and confirms and tips and phone numbers in this little notebook. My mil thinks i'm a freak. She'll say,,"what,,your're going AGAIN??? Weren't you just THERE?!"We brought them w/us in Jan when we went, and they Loved it. To whoever asked,,no,you won't feel let down after your trip,,cuz you'll be busy thinking of your next one!!! We're going in March,,then in May,,and i'm already getting giddy about planning Christmas. I'm glad i'm not the only one. WHen i first started reading these boards,i read about someone who had packed their clothes about 3 months before the trip. I thought "man!!" Now last night,,i was thinking "hey,,thats not a bad idea!" Someone slap me now!LOL.

When you live in New England, and you plan a trip any time in the winter, you might as well just pack for WDW after the leaves turn, cuz you're not gonna need them until then. 3 months sounds reasonable, but for the toiletries and underwear.

You all are sooooooo great! DH is really sweet about the whole thing (I think he likes WDW more than he'll admit, because he's really quite stubborn and I just can't see him agreeing to all these trips if he didn't enjoy them). He seems to be leaning towards buying into DVC. He says if I really want to go two or three times a year it's the only way we'd be able to afford it. I've noticed that when he says he's "thinking" about something it usually means he's got his mind made up, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. :bounce: :Pinkbounc When you are a DVC member you can use points to stay in the resorts also, right?

I agree with a lot of you that people say, "What - you're going there again?" a lot. It kind of gets on my nerves. Several people I work with have been to WDW and hated it. I never understand why they ask me where we are going and then roll their eyes about it. They know very good and well where I'm going and why do they care anyway?

Oh well - I love WDW so much and no one's bad attitude is going to stop me!

I am glad to hear I am not alone! We are planning our first trip for (get this) fall 2006. Originally were going in 2005 but DS will only be 3 and I would really rather wait until he was 4 (although I am not sure I can wait that long!!!!) So I have about 2 1/2 years til we go....and I am already starting to obsess. I just started reading dis books and found this board about a month or two ago.....became obsessed with "WHERE TO STAY????!!" Decided on POLY because our in-laws will be going and want to stay there...also would be convent with transportation for them and also 4yo and 7yo. I honestly debated day and night about where would be the best place to stay (do we really want to spend that much money??, etc.)....and it is such a relief to have made a decision. Sigh...now I just have to save money and wait. Already I am planning our NEXT trip ...kids will be a bit older and I want to stay at BC or YC. I have been checking these boards daily... DH keeps kissing my head and shaking his head when he catches me online....tells me I am nuts. People at work DEFINATELY don't understand my obsession. Glad to hear there are other people like me out there! I think I need a notebook too..........

Hmmm, I have seen nuns at WDW, but did not know there was a whole "convent" there ;) . Only teasing :teeth:, but that was what I was think as I read thru the first time.

Although I'm not able to go near as much as I'd like, I live to plan the next Disney trip even if it's a year or two down the road.

That's why I was soooo happy to join all these wonderful people on these boards who love Disney as much as me.

Don't worry your DH will get used to it, mine did not he enjoys the trips as much as I do.

Lots of fun planning your trips.

I thought I was the only one with a notebook!! Although I do not plan years ahead (I think the excitement might kill me!) I keep all the little scribbled notes from all my past trips in my notebook. That way, when I start planning the next trip, I have references for places I've stayed or wanted to stay. All our trip plans are in this notebook, I don't know why I think I need to keep our PS's from past trips!!

DH thinks I'm crazy, too. We've taken 3 big family trips to WDW, but now my two DS's (16, 18) won't go anymore, that leaves DD(14) and me. We've upped it to twice a year, now, and DH really hates it. He won't say no, but you can tell, he'd like us to give it up. What can I say, we love it!!

I can also relate to the friends and family responses. "What, Disney again? " "Weren't you just there?" "Why don't you go somewhere else?" It's as if they can't stand us having so much fun!!

I am planning for a WDW vacation with my sons for the 2nd time and it is in Oct. !! I have invited my family too!! This is special because I live in Switzerland (US expat) . Disney is special to me and embodies so much warmth...
So I say Go For It!! Plan away... my only problem is that my hubby is not a Disney fan...
But heck, the jet lag and the $$$ is worth it to me to spend time with my twin sons... ( even if they are hairy 16 year olds!)
:sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

I AM ALSO A DISNEY NUT. MY HUSBAND SAYS THAT HE THINKS I AM CRAZY.. I THINK HE GETS AFRAID TO TELL PEOPLE WHERE HE IS GOING ON VACATION..... WHEN I AM AT DISNEY I AM ALREADY PLANING MY NEXT TRIP..... OH WELL IT COULD BE WORSE.. DISNEY MAKES ME FORGET ALL THE BAD IN THE WORLD. :earsgirl:

Your are certainly not alone. I am a nut as well. Although, I do not keep a notebook of possible future dates (those are firmly set in my head since I only go during the fall/winter), I do have a sort of accounting notebook costing out differences for Disney. I know exactly how much a 4, 5, 6 or 7 day trip will cost me at almost any level of hotel via onsite or offsite, whether driving or flying, car rental or not. Yep, a little bit strange but at least I know what I have to come up with to go.

Lastly, my last trip I filmed about 12 hours of film. I haven't had the chance to edit it all but am guessing when I am done, it will be about 5 to 7 hours long. Now I can watch my Disney vacation anytime I want and will surely be happy. Guess I am a disneyholic after all.

I keep a picture of the Yacht and Beach Club at my desk, on the fridge, hanging on the wall, etc......

I am truly a resortoholic-but the YC/BC is my absolute favorite place to be and I need constant reminders of it during my day-to-day reality.

:)

I swear to g-d you people are cracking me UP!! I've been belly-laughing for the past 5 minutes over these posts. BambiTamby you are just Disney Bliss personified. If I really let loose, I'd be Bambi Jr.!!princess: princess:

Deana s - honey, you need to pick up the pace. No WAY can you wait to visit in 2006 for the first time. Get a great rate somewhere and GO FOR IT. The kids need to be exposed early ;)

As far as the guidebooks, most nights lately, I get in my gown and pile up with Passporter and The Unofficial Guide and Luxury Guide to Disney and just read and re-read everything - of course, this is after my back is broken from spending 3 hours on the computer doing guess what?!?! . When I'm finally starting to nod off, I hurl the books onto the floor with a thud and I'm off to dreamland, where I've been known to obsess over what PS I still need to make.
I mean, I GUESS it's harmless...what is it about us?:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

I have actually gone to sleep with my guide books in the bed with me :p ! Not on purpose

I also woke up about thirty times in one night when I was trying to decide between POR and POFQ for my Christmas trip with my sister! At about 4 in the morning I finally gave it up and got on this site and decided I wasn't even going to try to sleep until I had made a decision!

You guys described my life... I even had my DH read the posts so he would know that my obsession is "normal" and so he would understand what is going on in my head... if that is even possible.

My poor husband has had it with me! We are going down to WDW on April 22 and I am already talking about the cruise I want to go on next. He can't understand how i can be planning a Disney cruise when we haven't even gotten down there for this trip we have planned. I may be crazy but I'm glad I have a lot of fellow nuts to keep me company!

I am currently reading three different Disney guide books. One is on the bedside table; one is on the desk by the computer; and one is in the car!!!! DH just rolls his eyes!

I wonder if all our DH's are commiserating with each other on some "OMG my wife is obsessed with WDW" message board somewhere? :p

Hello. My name is LVDizFan and I'm a Diz Nut.

As the single dad of a 6 yr old, I get to indulge my desires and go to WDW or DL at least twice a year. I used to tell my co-workers that it was for her, but I think they caught on pretty quick (its hard to hide the passion).

On the subject of resorts, I find we spend as much time at them as we do in the parks. We stay at a different one each time and have worked the list down to just the GF and the Cont(saving the best for last?)

I spend months planning for the stays (AP holder) and live in the afterglow for months as well.

I'm a newbie to the posts but have been reading them for years, so thanks to all of you for sharing your experiences, your thoughts, and your 'wierdness'. I'm not much of a joiner, but it is because of you that I can finally admit to belonging to the Diz Nuts. :grouphug:

Thanks!

Hi all. Please add me to the list of Diz Nuts. Although I really became crazed after our first disney cruise back in Nov. I discovered these boards too late to help with that trip but now with our next cruise booked for this Nov, I can't stay away. You have all been so helpful and generous in sharing your knowledge. What did we do all the years without this? I must admit that I spend about 3 hours a day reading books and these boards. It really helps me to unwind and feel good to plan our next trip. My husband also thinks I'm crazy, but he enjoys our trips just as much.

We will be staying at the Poly for 4 nights before our 7 day cruise this time. I can't wait. The Poly was our first time and i'm happy to be going back. The BC is also a favorite.

Thanks to all for letting me know that I AM NORMAL!

Karen from NJ
