DH (a basketball coach) had to go scout a game tonight and I went with him. Well, when I got bored, I got out my little notebook I keep in my purse for planning Disney trips and made a list of when we were going to stay at each resort on property! I have been dying to go back to the Poly and the GF is my dream resort, so it made me feel better to make plans - even if they are totally unofficial and only real in my little notebook! I am such a nut! DH asked me what I was doing and when I told him he looked soooo appalled! Now I know these plans aren't written in stone - after all, I did make a list for trips through 2010 (I'm pretty sure we'll probably want to have a baby or two somewhere in there and I'm considering going to law school) but it just makes me happy to think about all the wonderful WDW experiences we have in our future. DH seriously thinks I need help - I'm not sure I disagree! I'm soooooo glad I found these boards and nice peoplel like you who will understand! I can't even explain it - I know that life will not always be rosy, but there will usually be something nice just around the corner - that's what Disney trips are for me - a completely magical escape - and the resorts are the BEST part, for me anyway.:sunny:

Just had to share what a wierdo I am!;)

If you are a weirdo, then we were separated at birth. I have to have something to look forward to, and if it makes you happy & no one gets hurt, what is the harm? My DH doesn't quite get it either, but he is used to me! I hope you get to take your trips. :wave2:

Oh, leighe!

WELCOME TO MY WORLD!

LOTS of {{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}} to you, sweetie!
I love WDW because it IS where I can escape and relax from my stress.

Nothing wrong with us!;)

Oh my gosh, you guys are all making me seriously laugh out loud!! It's like a Seinfeld episode!! Is there a Disneyaholics Anonymous, or is this it?? :hyper: DH thinks I'm crazy to talk about our Dec. trip EVERYDAY, much less that I'm talking about our 2005 trip too!! I've got my notebook also!!::yes:: What can I say, everything about WDW is just my "thing"!! You're right, Bambitamby...nothing wrong with us!!!! :) And geez, how am I EVER going to make it to December????

Do we all buy Poland Springs bottled water?

"Follow your deam" and go directly to the phone and book a MK view room at The Grand Floridian IMMEDIATELY , book it for the week that your Annual Wedding Aniversary is on. Now, by the time you read this CR might be CLOSED, so FIRST THING IN THE MORNING!
By the way to satify the "MR Coach", as the CR about some kind of passes or special for a JOCK, at the Wide World of Sports Center.
WHY THE RUSH!
You mention children, well think about GF with or W/O children.
We honeymooned at WDW and took 10 years to get back but like you, I wanted to stay at the Cont and my bride wanted to stay at GF so we split the trip between the two , BEFORE the children.
"FEEL YOUR PAIN!!!"
:( :( :(
but
"THE MAGIC HAPPENS!!!"

Me too!!

And Bambi, you're doing the single digit dance!!

Wish it were me!!!

Ummmmmmm, no. You're not crazy. I live 2 and a half hours from WDW and we go just about every other month, excepting the summer months. We go every year on our anniversary and then a few more times with the kids and a few without the kids. When I asked my mil yesterday to watch the baby for us for our anniversary she asked "are you going to Disney AGAIN?" it's pretty much our only vacation.

We're staying at POR Riverside for our anniversary and then at WL in September and I haven't decided where in December for MVMCP for the baby. I have a whole notebook dedicated to dates, rates, confirmation #'s, PS notes, touring plans, etc.

Next year when my oldest DS graduates from high school, we're going on a cruise and I just about break out in hives because we cant' do a Disney cruise!

I am seriously laughing my head off! What a riot!
I am SO in the same boat! I am researching resorts for an August trip. Mind you, I'm already through planning my APRIL trip. My husband thinks I'm nuts and I "hide" what I'm doing on the Internet all the time;) Of course, he knows...
This really is the DisAnon board::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo

I might live in the sticks near cows, but I teach in the inner city. Disney is my happy place! I keep telling DH I could have much worse "habits", but he doesn't seem to buy my arguements! Good thing he pays for them! :)

Debbie

This is not an illness...it is a way of life!!! Thank goodness we all found each other or we might actually believe those who think we are nuts!

Have fun planning!!:sunny:

Im the same.. We went for our 30th last year and this year we are bringing our three oldest grandaughters in June .....AND just last week we decided to take There sisters next year(twins, who will be five yrs old next year). Just the two of them. It will be there first time there! Who better to take them but there "crazy about Disney World" Nana and grandpa. :)

My DH has known since before he married me that we WILL retire in Orlando so that I can be a CM. I've given up on being an "active" special friend, but that Fairy Godmother spot in the Cinderella's Royal Table lobby has potential!!! That's the only way I think I might be able to get enough to sustain me on a daily basis! ;) Kim

It's great to know there are others out there like me. I change resorts in my mind with the different posts I read! Finally talked my DD into going next year with me because
DH didn't want to go. I swear in my next life I will be more careful and marry someone like these wonderful husbands on this board that loves DW like I do. I don't even hardly look at our weather but I sure check to see what the weather is in Orlando!

I have folders in my desk drawer for all my WDW trips. In one of them is my 'future trips' list. It goes forward for 10 years!!!! I have to be careful tho. My dh is okay with WDW. In fact, it was his idea to look into DVC. But....he does tend to groan and roll his eyes when my 10 y/o dd or I start talking about WDW. Or if I say such and such was on the boards today!!! I'm glad to have such a great group of people that share my 'affliction'!!!!
 :Pinkbounc  :Pinkbounc

Have you had DH's head examined? hee hee hee

I am at the top of the weirdo pile......Ready for this.....

My husband wanted us to go to WDW for our honeymoon, I have AAA and I thought the CBR had access to a lake (a REAL lake that I can swim in) anywho...Fast Forward....I got a 4 for 7 deal and we booked it (had no idea those were hard to come by at the time) We went.

get this- I hated it- I distinctly recall standing in line for Test Track telling my husband I thought all these people who keep coming back were insane! Why would anyone ever need to come again? I am not a "summer person" per se and this was Aug 23 (for the week up to and through Labor Day) I am also clausterphobic.

After having some time (say 5 mos) I have been able to look back and realize I have so many great times, but the heat and humidity just killed it for me, my husband kept me on this ride to ride schedule everyday to my breaking point. My husband wants to go back during a cooler time, and wants it to be the next vacation (so all the memories will blend together)-he promises not to do every single thing in WDW and slow and steady.

We were gonna go in April- now we think Nov, during our birthdays.

I hope I am not insane, but we bought about 4 books and B&N and I am glued to this site and the WDW site and really looking forward to going again. I dont know what happened. I KNOW I hated it when I was there....but now I want to go back:earseek:

I love to plan, and didn't at all last time. Now I am obsessing over where to stay (about to post a thread asking for help) when to go, etc.

I cant believe I have Disney on my brain so often. I was just wondering last night, when I told myself to skip reading The Unofficial guide and go to bed- if our trip isn't for 8 mos- do others think Disney for the whole 8 mos? Is it healthy? Will I be let down from all the planning when I get there?

Yes, it's healthy! No, you won't be let down, unless you plan this perfect itinerary and then get freaked out if you cannot follow it exactly! Plan for relaxation time, which I'm sure you know, since your DH drove you to distraction last time. Part of the fun of planning is the mounting excitement as you get closer, the longer you plan, the more time you have to be excited!

I tell my DH that in some ways it's like having a baby... you plan and plan and wait and wait, and then you finally get there and there is some pain involved. Some severe pain. But the overall outcome is so wonderful, that time helps you forget the pain and you realize you want to try again! Remember that when you are in the middle of the Magic and something is not going exactly right! My guess is at the end, the Magic will far outweight any misery!

You sound like a DVC member in temrs of Temperment. We have our DVC "points" planned out for the next two years. And in order to get that lovely boardwalk view during October's Epcot Food & Wine fest, we book exactly at 11 months ahead (earliest possible). Already have April 2005 planned (can't reserve until May, darn), and are working on October 2005 (one last weekend before those APs expire). So we no longer race around, cramming in attractions; we plan a few greatest hits, hit a couple with short lines, enjoy the atmosphere, cuz we know we're gonna be back soon. I get the unofficial guide evry year and maybe one other, but mainly to offer to our guests (yeah, we invite folks to join us sometimes, and they love it too).

And the total cost of our DVC membership? About what we have paid for lodging in our last 4 visits (POFQ, Swan, Swan, AKL; all but the 1st one on sale too). And for that price we have nearly 2 weeks a year of BW (or other DVC) lodging for the next 38 years (plus about $900 a year in Maintenence fees). Pretty neat, huh?

I also am a resortaholic. We enjoy the resorts as much as the parks. If this is your addiction, it's a good one. You gave me an idea. I've never thought about planning a list of future trips several years in advance. I like that. We usually just plan our very next trip. I like this idea. And, I'm a firm believer that if you write something down and think positve...it will happen. It always has for us.

We've stayed at the following resorts: All Star Music, CBR, Coronado, Contemporary, WL, Yacht Club, Beach Club, Grand Floridian, and the Polynesian.

So, I must be a resortaholic myself.
