My family is planning a Sept/2013 trip. I was hoping for this year, but it's not going to happen :(

Anyway my brother and SIL just bought a timeshare and it includes Disney DVC's. They will be staying at one of them in a 1 or 2 bedroom. We will be doing two values or two mods depending on our savings at the time.

We plan on spending a lot of time with them. Would we be able to visit them in their rooms at their resort? I'm thinking, like having some down time in their room since it's bigger. The little ones could rest and the adults could visit kwim? I know we can't swim there and I totally wouldn't do that. But is what I suggested okay?

I am not a rule breaker so i want to make sure

And I know it's a long way off, but I am so excited they are now coming with us!

All of Disney's resorts are open to the public, including the DVC resorts. You're welcome to explore any of the resorts, shop, dine, relax in your brother and SIL's room, even use recreational facilities like boat rentals, if available at that resort. As you mentioned, the pools are only for resort guest use, but that's really the only thing that would be off-limits.

The only other things I can think of that might be for resort guests only is the gym/weight room (if there is one). I'd guess if it was anything that required a room key to get into, those might be for resort guests only.
