Does anyone know where I can find info on the tours offered at some of the resorts (Grand Floridian, Wilderness Lodge, etc.)? I'm going next week - to celebrate my birthday - and I thought I'd like to tour some of the resorts, between park-hopping...

When you arrive at your hotel just call guest services at the hotels you want to tour and they can tell you if they have tours and what time they are.

Earlier this year, I checked the GF about tours and they had been discontinued. The WL had a morning and afternoon tour, but I believe they only now have one tour. I don't know if this info is still correct, but as of Feb. of this year that was the info I got.

I would recommend calling the resorts. Here's what I know:

At WL ask them when Ranger Stan does his daily tour. This fellow is absolutely amazing -- he knows everything about WL and points out things you'd never see. He is incredibly friendly, cheerful, informative, and engaging. If this is the only resort tour you do, DO NOT MISS IT!!

Beach/Yacht Club -- I believe they have a "garden" tour each day, possibly in mid-afternoon. It's a walking tour of the grounds around the resorts.

My DW and I haven't done a lot of resort-hopping; usually too pooped from park-hopping!

I've looked thru all the sites I know of that have Resort FAQs
( DIS, WDWIG, etc...) but can't find any info---I know I've seen it somewhere........... ( "Oh where, oh where, did my memory go--Oh where, oh where can it beeee?" )

If no one comes up with a site, I'll find out when I get up there next week, and post the info when I get back..........This time, I'll write it down!

We did the AKL tour this past July, I believe it was in the afternoon. They told us about the lobby area and all the artifacts and also got to taste some food. It was a nice tour. We did the WL tour in December with ranger Stan, this was a morning tour and also did the lobby area. He does a nice job of the tour. If you have the time they give you some insight as to how the resort was built and that type of thing.

Can you take these tours even if you're not a guest at that particular resort? Also, what if you're not staying at any WDW resort but want to take one of these tours? (It's still up in the air as to whether we're staying at ASMu or HIFS in Decmeber; I want ASMu, but may be out-numbered. )

It doesnt matter if you are staying at the resort or not. You don't even have to stay on property. You may want to call the resort and ask for the exact time of the tour. The tours have been fun and something to do during our breaks.
