Hi Everyone! I am reaching out today to get a few suggestions about some of the resorts. I've been to Disney World multiple times and I've always stayed at the All Stars because I'm super cheap. The way I like to do Disney is to be in the parks during every hour they're open and not go back to the hotel all day. In my opinion, I pay a lot of money for park access and I want to get my money's worth. I took my husband down with me for the first time last year and he absolutely hated All Star Sports that we stayed at. He swore that if he ever went back, he'd have to stay at the Grand Floridian. My husband said that he did enjoy some things about the parks but that he'd like to spend time relaxing at the hotel bar and pool more. The All Stars didn't really allow for him to do that.

My brother-in-law recently said he'd go down to Disney World with me and now my husband has an interest in going depending on the resort we stay at. I have lots of credit card points that I'm planning on using to get the accommodations, however I do not have enough to stay at the Floridian without paying extra to get in there. I am looking for some suggests for more adult friendly resorts at every level, I simply can't seem to pull the trigger myself on this one!

The Yacht Club or the BWI are great resorts that are adult friendly and walking distance/boat ride from both the DHS and Epcot. They are somewhat less expensive than the monorail resort and have some night time activities going on as well. Another option that would be less expensive again would be Wilderness Lodge or the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Both of these resorts are usually the least expensive of the deluxe resorts and have awesome theming! We especially love the AKL, but the WL has the advantage of a boat ride to the MK!

If you qualify for some of the great discount at the Swan/Dolphin, these resorts can give a less expensive alternative to the Disney Deluxe resorts. they qualify for EMH and on site disney transportation as well as FP+ 60 days in advance. 180+10 ADR's happened for me once, but not since, although I have read of it happening at least to one other person. IDK if it was a lucky glitch or what happened but I expect that you would have to book dining at 180 days for each day. The big loss staying at the Swan/Dolphin is the lack of the Magical express from/to the airport. You would need to get a taxi or uber each way. Also, add about $50 per day to the price for resort fees and parking(if you have a car).

If nothing but the monorail will do, try the garden wing rooms at the Contemporary. They are often the least expensive option for monorail resorts.

The moderates are nicer, but have a similar motel style to the All Stars. If DH has his eye on the GF, I would check out the above options first.

Look at Pics online to get an idea of which themes and resort amenities you like the best.

Finally, as Gary M suggested, look for discounts and check out different times of year if you are flexible. If heat doesn't bother you, then September or late August can give the best deals of all. I would do a search online for late summer / early fall deals for Disney resorts. People have managed to get some amazing deals!

Good luck!

This. All of this. Great advice.

Yes, I, too, agree with all of this. Personally, to cater to DH's desire for a deluxe and your desire to save money, I would book whichever deluxe is cheapest (barring OKW and SSR). They all have great pools and great pool bars. And definitely check out Swan/Dolphin - they have a great pool complex and poolside restaurant/bar.

SSR has a section (Paddock) which is very close to DS, plenty of pools to pick from.

But my first choice would be BW, between with the World Showcase, Jelly Rolls and multiple pool choices.
