Resort Speed PAss?

I will be staying at one of the UNIVERSAL Hotels and was wondering how the speed pass worked. I know you get it free with your stay but what do you have to do/bring?

Things you need:
1)Yourself.
2)Your room key (RPR, HRH, PBH).
3)Your park admission ticket.

Once you get in the park, simply show your room key (everyone in your party must have one) to the attraction greeter. They will check the dates printed on your key, then direct you to the express line. You may re-use the express line as much as you want.

You'll receive a room key for each occupant of your room when you check in, even if your room isn't ready. Keep everyone's room key with you as that is what you'll show the line attendant to access the express lane at the parks. Each person accessing the express lane will need their own room key. So if you have a party of 4 staying in the room, and all 4 want to use the express lane of a ride, you'll need to show the ride attendant the 4 room keys.

The room keys will also give you express seating at most restaurants at Citywalk. Just show your room key to the restaurant's check-in desk and usually you'll get seated quicker then other walk-up guests. Currently, Emeril's and Bubba Gumps are the two restaurants at Citywalk that do not support room key priority seating.

When checking out of your hotel, you'll keep your room keys so you'll still be able to access the express lines afterwards. Room keys are valid up till park closing time on day of check-out.

I was wondering if you think it is worth it to book 1 night for 5 (2 adults 3 teens) to have the express pass for two days.

It is cheaper to book a nights stay then to buy the express passes. Also can I (the parent) hold all the tickets and just show them for all when you go in.

Last year my son lost his room key at Disney three times- Don't want to go through that again.

If it's cheaper than buying the express pass, then I think it's worth it! You'll be staying in a nice resort within walking distance to the parks.

Yes, you can hold the room keys for your kids, we've done it many times.

We just keep our room key in our pocket, they don't provide you with a lanyard, but you could bring your own I guess.

You can buy a lanyard at any of the stores in either park.

I haven't experienced Universal without the pass and I am not sure I want to either. Personally, it would be worth the money if I didn't stay at the hotel unless you enjoy standing in long lines. We can do a quick 3 rides on MIB in a very short time. There never seems to be a line for that in the fastpass.

Just Thinking worst case scenario here: What If I bring the Room Key and someone in my party forgets theirs will they let only the people that have it in or are they nice and say it is ok?

I would think to use FOTL everyone must have their key card. I don't know how strict they are so just make sure someone keeps up with them for the group.

They pretty much ask to see a card for each person, so treasure that room key!

If they let that go, lots of people would claim friends,etc and it would get too hard to handle. We've always all had to show our cards. It is just like Disney where everyone has to have a fastpass.

This morning I saw the attendants scanning the EPs with the hand helds. They do the same thing at HHN.
