Good evening everyone, tomorrow is my husband and I 16th year wedding anniversary , however, we will not be at WDW until May 26th and would like to celebrate there party:

But, I wanted to find out if I bought my own decoration and asked for the mousekeeping staff to decorate the room without my husband knowing while we are out that evening, if that is possible to be done ? Has anyone ever done this ?

Right now we really can't afford any of the celebration packages offered by Disney and thought this would be a little less expensive to do it this way.

Thanks in advance to any responses.

The housekeepers are busy cleaning the rooms so they don't have time to decorate your room. You'll either need to do it yourself or pay Disney Florist to decorate for you.

You could ask but i doubt they will be interested. Call the resort and see if maybe guest services would do it for you. I bet they have somebody who takes care of special events for the guests...

I think that since it's a service that Disney has started to charge for, it will be tough to get anyone at the resort to do it for free.

Maybe you could send your husband on an errand to the food court or gift shop to pick something up, and quickly decorate the room while he's gone?

If you're staying at a resort that offers room service (AKL, BC, YC, BW, WL, CR, Poly, GF, CSR), you might be able to order a cake, or something like chocolate-covered strawberries as a surprise? There's usually a number of items for celebrations on the room service menu, and I'll bet you'd find something that's not quite as pricey as the room decoration packages.

Thank you, I think this will probably work best by sending him out the room. We are actually staying at ASMu.

First, let me say Congratulations on 16 years! Not many us make it this far anymore and even less bother to try.

I would start at the Front Desk, wouldn't hurt to ask. And if they can't help, sending him on an errand will always work. After 16 years, he should know when your up to something and will take his time. And Congratulations again, our 29 years started with a first date to Disneyland and is still going strong today.
