Okay I have always made room requests by calling DVC. Now when you do online check on you can add 2 requests. People also say you can email? Can you give more specifics if you call vs. doing online check in? Is there a reason to do TWO different requests via one of the 3 ways??? TIA

You should always put your requests in via MS, and when checking in online do not pick any options that conflict with that call.

Online check in is a Disney cash product that DVC has made available to members. The requests often do not match the requests that DVC members want. Adding requests to online check in will over-write the requests placed on the room reservation by MS.

SO I did online check in for our OKW April 10th arrival. I picked Peninsular and Millers Rd. areas. Should I be more specific and call MS to request certain bldgs??? I would like to be within walking distance of HH area since HH booking area is no available. TIA

If you've made requests on the reservation, should you not do online check in or should you do it but not make any requests that way?

You can do on-line check-in, but you must skip the location request section.

If the location request options that are available during on-line check-in meet our needs, we will use them. Otherwise, I would have MS note them on the reservation and skip the location request section of on-line check-in.

I never do the online check-in because I always put in a room request ahead of time & I don't want to over-ride anything that I've specifically requested. I also want to check at the front desk when we check in if we've received our request & if not is there any way to change it. I've recently started using the email feature on the member website to send in requests bcuz I'd only had very limited success with calling in. (There's a reason for my screen name!!) We'll find out in June if emailing helps anything...

We have used e-mail requests for the past several trips and found it to work very well. I'd say we have the same rate of request success as we used to have when we called MS.

I agree with others that online check-in is of questionable value and potential request override.

I also always do requests thru MS. I do online check in maybe 50% of the time and do not go into the requests when I do it. The requests I have done with MS have remained.

Where do you all do the email request? Was trying the link on the page but was coming up with stitch saying someone ate the page.

I use the contact us link from the Members' website. The website is not always stable - when I get the error, I either try again right away and if that doesn't work, I try later. The good think about room requests is that they are seldom urgent, since the resort doesn't really get them to look at until 3 - 5 days prior. Hope you have better luck next time.
