We just got back from a great trip at SSR and AKL. I will post a trip report later. We loved SSR. We arrived at around 11:00 a.m. Our room wasn't ready but they gave us our keys and told us to call back later for the room #. It was easy and we went to MK. That night we went to the hotel and it was beautiful. I loved all the Christmas trees around the property. We were in Congress Park in room 1614. We were on the second floor with a DD view. We could see the fireworks if we were awake but they never woke us up. It was a very short walk to DD. Once I took the boat but it was longer to walk to the dock than to walk to DD. It took about five min. It was a long walk to the main pool but it was pleasant. MIL took the boys swimming and they all loved the pool. Over all I loved this place ( this is a very good thing since I own here
).
After seven days we moved to AKL. We had a Savannah view. It was zebra I think. We were in room 2506. I know that the rooms are smaller than the Contemporary but because of the bunk beds I didn't feel as crowded. I loved being able to see the animals from the room. On Saturday we spent the afternoon doing things at the hotel.
My boys loved making the ostrich egg ornaments. We also got the sheets from the front desk and played find the hidden Mickeys. That night the boys made us go swimming and it was freezing but the pool was very nice.
The only thing we didn't like about AKL was the arcade. My boys are six and the games were too hard and too expensive for them to play.
