Resort Remorse

I am having a case of resort remorse. I was unable to get a ressie for the POP yesterday and went with my 2nd choice--POFQ. I am now wondering if I made the right decision.

We have stayed at the POP in the past and always enjoyed our stay. I am excited about POFQ, with it being compact and the little upgrades such as the queen beds and dual sinks. My big concern is the bus transportation. The POP has its own dedicated bus and POFQ shares with POR. Is this a big deal? Our dates are 9/29 to 10/6.

Please give me your 2 cents :)

POFQ and POR are lovely resorts. I've stayed at both and am going back to POR this August. I can't comment on the buses as we get a rental car, but from what I've read it's not that bad. Check out the POFQ thread on the resorts board.

We stayed at POR several years ago. The bus was always full when we got on it because they stopped at POFQ first. Then on the way back, we were the last to get off the bus. I remember saying to my husband, "I wish we were staying at POFQ instead of POR!"

You will be the first ones on and the first ones off!! (Unless things have changed since our visit.)

We stayed at POFQ over Thanksgiving week, and had no trouble with the busses. I remember only one time during that very busy week when there were more people getting on a bus than would fit. We had to wait for the next one, but the next one came along immediately after.

We really loved POFQ and would stay there again without hesitation, except we're now a family of five!

Have a great trip!

We love POFQ.:lovestruc It is our favorite mod resort. I think that you will be happy with your choice.

It's much smaller than POP, so the food court will be less busy. The pool is great and has a slide, which POP does not, and you will have the nice new queen size beds!

Just think about how nice it will be to stand under a covered bus stop while waiting for the bus!

You will love it there! We never had any problems with the buses at POFQ and I can't say the same for other resorts we have stayed at.

I have resort remorse a bit too.... We only do values. We are a young couple who is always looking to save....

But yesterday I booked CBR with FD. Is it going to be worth the price increase? We've never done a mod before :confused3

you can ditch your Resort remorse. I have stayed at the Contemporary, Polynesian, CBR, CSR and POFQ. I would definitely stay at POFQ again. Lovely resort and we had no trouble with the buses. First on, first off. One stop, it's great!

POFQ is our moderate of choice, and we are booked with FD again this year. Even though they share buses with Riverside, I can recall plenty of times where the buses going to the parks didn't even stop at riverside. Also if you go to Downtown Disney, be sure to take the boats.

We have stayed at the POP and PORS. Liked the POP, loved PORS. We have stayed at a couple of deluxe resorts as well, for the price I honestly like the moderate resorts better. We have never had a problem with the buses at any of the moderates. Don't worry, it will be a great new experience. Everywhere at Disney is great!

Thanks everybody for all the great input. I think I am going to be very happy with my choice.

The thing that drew me to this resort was all the comments of how compact and peaceful it is.

It is more money than the POP--especially since the only room type available was a garden view, but I like that I will be getting a little bigger room with a double vanity and queen size beds.

My DD will be disappointed a first since she loves the "Popper", but I sure that will fade when she sees the water slide.

Thanks again! :thumbsup2

We stayed almost your exact dates in 2010 and LOVED it. We have 3 kids, but in 2010 one was i a pack and play- now that she is older, POFQ is not an option for us. We have stayed at values before, and it was our first time at a mod. Bus service was excellent!! Never waited for more than 15 minutes. We often had our own bus, separate from POR.. Pool is great, as is ambience and staff. I wish we could stay there again!

Don't cry for me, argentina, ha ha , we are booking for POR in two weeks for that same time period- see ya there!! I am so glad they still have the trundle beds there, only option for a fam. of five without dishing out another hundred for AoA or ASM suites...

enjoy- you will love it:)

September 2010 at POFQ, there were a total of TWO times when we shared a bus with POR in all the buses we took the entire week--and one of those times was for MNSSHP when very, very few people from either POFQ or POR happened to be going to the party that night. One other time, mid-day, we shared with POR. Early in the mornings and late at night/park closing, we never did. I really think it will be better than you think!

Thanks for all the great thoughts about this resort! We stayed at All Star Movies last time and I was wondering if we would be missing out. Sounds like this will be another amazing trip! :woohoo: I especially like the comment about covered bus stops, it's little things that add an extra bit of magic.

We'll be going the exact same dates as you, ollyg!

These boards are great aren't they? So many helpful people.

See you there!! Hope we get nice weather!!

Our first trip with kids we stayed at POP in 2004. We absolutely loved it! We went back in 2009 and stayed at POR. We like POR a lot better. I actually thought the bus service was a lot better. We hardly ever picked up or dropped off at POFQ. We really love it there. We had a chance to explore FQ too and it is just as nice from what I could see. The 2 properties are sisters or some thing so you can swim at the others pool. We went and swam at the POFQ pool one day and the pool is smaller than at POR but not as busy.

we liked POP it was fun and a great value:) We loved POFQ :thumbsup2 dont worry the buses stop at POFQ first. you wont be disappointed. Think carefully before switching, POFQ is usually one of the first to sell out for free dining, so you may not be able to switch back, either way you will have a great time! It's Disney:wizard:

No need for resort remorse! Any of the moderates are worth the extra money (IMHO) and we will NEVER stay at a value again. You get what you pay for. :thumbsup2
