Resort Question

Have any of you ever stayed at the Bavaro Princess Resort in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic or heard anything about it? Friends asked us if we'd like to join them for a trip seven weeks from now. Problem is we have to put a deposit down by Wednesday, and we don't have much time to do research. Trip Advisor has over 1600 reviews, but they are all over the place - from bedbugs to Nirvana. I know that competitors are not above posting totally untrue reviews, or possibly the resorts "pumping themselves up". Any solid truth based on experience or trusted sources would be most appreciated.

Try posting on the Punta Cana forums on Trip Advisor, at least you'll get a focused group as opposed to a lucky shot on here.
