Resort pools/slides...which is best?

My kids are huge fans of the water, and when I was presenting my top choices for where to stay, all they could ask was about the pools (and the waterslides).

So, I'd love opinions on which resorts have the best pools/slides. I know that Stormalong Bay is billed as a "waterpark", but from what I remember last time I was there (walked by on the way to board an Illuminations cruise in 2000), it was just a large free-form pool with one waterslide. Is that all there is to it?

Also, how tall do kids have to be to use the resort water slides? I know that my 5 year old is too small for many of the slides at BB & TL, so it would be nice for her to be able to use the slide at the resort. BTW, the older two will be 9 and 13. Thanks!

SAB is by far the best resort pool onsite. Worth every penny to stay at YC/BC just for the pool!:)

SAB is the best in my book. We just got back from BC and my DD's (12 & 8) loved the pool and resort. Our family is a water family as well and this is one reason why I picked BC. My DD's said they want to go back there when I asked them which hotel they preferred. I gave them the choices of this BC and pool or staying at a hotel on the monorail system.

You can tell by the pic under my name which pool I think rules! SAB - no doubt about it.

We've stayed at both CSR and YC for a split stay. There's no comparison in the pools BC/YC's SAB is head and shoulders above all the others. It's hard to see from just walking by as you really don't see the whole pool and you can't get a feel for how relaxing it is there. SAB also has a sand bottom which is unique but you probably already read that. The lifeguard led activities offer fun and prizes for mid-day swimmers taking a break from the parks too.

CSR is our favorite when staying moderate - very nice - in fact I'd venture to say that it's bigger than the Luna Pool at BWI. I know CSR's dig site was definitely less crowded and has a much better pool entry, children's area, playground, and lifeguard led activities than the BWI pool which is odd considering BWI is technically a deluxe resort...

In the bow (?) of the ship on the beach that you see the mast extending from is a seperate smaller, and often overlooked, children's pool area with a slide too. It's good for that in-between age or as a warm-up slide for the big one housed inside the ship's mast which empties into SAB.
I don't remember there being a height requirement for the smaller slide. I know DD6 did it when she was 4 without a problem except at the end when she decided she didn't like getting water in her eyes. princess:

Thank you all so much for the quick replies! I'd love any more pool stories if you have them...it looks like that's how we'll pick our resort!

As a warning, there are some areas at SAB that are very deep, like 8 feet deep, with a strong current. It is very spread out, so if you are with your 5 yr old, someone may need to be with the 9 and 13 yr olds.

CBR had a fun waterslide that my DD 2 1/2 and older kids all enjoyed. The pool is way smaller than SAB though.

CSR has the best pool of the mods. SAB is the best of the deluxes and overall.
