Does anyone know if or when the resorts close their pools for winter? If they do close, when do they open up again?

Thanks!! :earsgirl:

Hello, Disney pools never close unless there is some kind of a maintainance problem or for a hurricane. The pools do however have a time limit for use but they dont' seem to enforce that either. For example most pools close at midnight as well as hot tubs but I have used most of the resort pools until two in the morning as long as your not making noice or causing a problem. All the pools are beautiful at the deluxe resorts.

No need to worry. Resort pools are open year round, unless as the other posted noted it is under rehab.

Here's a question to go along with that then:

I was wondering how early the pools open in the AM. Since I'll be eating far
too much (compared to when I'm at home), it might be nice to be able to
get in a swim in the AM before heading out to the parks.

BTW: In case it matters: I'm staying at the POFQ (Not sure if that affects
anything in either case.

The pool at POFQ never closes, only the slide does, there just are times with no lofeguard on duties. One of my kid is an early riser, and some of my best memory are of her and I in the pool all alone.....

I believe some of the pools have signs on them that may say they close at a certain time but I have never seen it happen. But like earlier said, i forgot it probably only means that life guards only on duty until certain times. One of my favorite past times on vacation in Disney is use of the hot tub real early in the morning before I start my day with a cup of coffee. IT is so relaxing and it is a nice way to see the sun come up. Wilderness Lodge is my all time fav so far! Have fun! I have 4 more weeks to go before mynext trip. :cool1:

All Disney pools have operating hours. Most are listed from 8am to 10pm. The lifeguards definitely have regular hours.

However as many have stated the operating hours are not enforced at all resorts unless the guests become noisey and disturb the guests near the pools during sleeping hours.

When we were at the BCV 2 years ago, I went down for an early morning swim at SAB and it was closed. The staff were in the area cleaning and preparing, but it was made clear that they were not open until 10 AM (November). I was very disappointed.

Yes SAB is a different situation, the quiet pools at each resort are open earlier.

At SAB they have to have time to manicure the sand, etc. before opening.

:confused3 - BTW what is the deal with SAB? Are they allowing guests from other deluxe disney resorts to use their pools or is it not permitted? What if you have reservations there at the restuarants? Anyone know?

Unless you are a guest staying at BCV, BC or YC, you are not allowed to use SAB. They will check your resort ID and then issue wristbands. They have been known to eject people that didn't have a wristband.

Having reservations at a restaurant at BC/YC does not grant you the permission to use SAB. Sorry.

Like with ALL WDW resort pools, the only people allowed to use them are those who are registered guests of that resort. Dining at a restaurant does not qualify you as a resort guest.

Thanks so much for the info, it was a long shot on the dinner ressies but I thought I would try! I mean who wouldn't want to scam into SAB if they could. I usually stay at the WL but I have noticed from people talking we have a ton of people crowding in on the pools and it becomes so crazy full of kids and people coming from neighboring hotels I was just kind of curious why some hotels enforce it more than others....what do you think?
