So as we're tying up loose ends... I sent a couple questions off to my Memories planner.

I have an outside photographer and will want pictures at the Contemporary, Polynesian and the Grand Floridian. She advised me to have my photographer contact her to go over this--which I kind of understand. But then, proceded to say that CR and Poly would be fine, but would need to check about timing at the Grand Floridian as there is a full day of Wishes brides at the WP that day. I only have my photographer for a short time--is there a possibility I won't be able to have them there? Has anyone run into this problem?? I really wanted the majority of my photos there and I will be 100% heartbroken if they tell me I have to be in and out in 10 minutes, or something like that. Also... the way the day goes, we were going to go over right after the ceremony at like 1:20... and I only have him until 2pm--so of course I'm nervous since Wishes has a 2:30 timeslot and that's about the right time for them to be doing GF pictures.

Hopefully I'm over-reacting---but I guess I haven't read about a similar problem on here, so I thought I'd ask :cutie:

Thanks everyone!

I would call your planner back, since you are less than three weeks away from your wedding, and ask if there are any wedding scheduled there that would interfere with your time at the Grand Floridian.

When I wanted to meet with Randy at the Polynesian prior to our ceremony for pictures, my planner said the same thing, "It's fine unless there is another wedding scheduled there.".

Now, don't quote me on this because I do not remember but I believe that they don't schedule weddings less than three weeks away from the desired date. So, if you are less than three weeks out and there is no wedding currently scheduled for the time you want to be at the Grand Floridian, I believe you will be okay. However, check with your planner.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but there is a possibility you won't be able to do photos at GF. I really want photos with df inside the GF and at the monorail after our ceremony but our planner told us this is not possible as there is another wedding after us and two brides aren't allowed to see each other.:sad2: I am so disapointed. I dont care about having photos with my wedding party there I want df and I. She told us the only way we could do this is if we see each other before ceremony which we dont want to do. I would check with your planner about timing and see if there is a chance. I hope they can work something out for you! Good luck :)

Well she said we'd talk about it next week... which will be one week from the wedding :headache:

The WP is fully booked in all time slots on that day. :sad2:

One thing you could do, and I may be completely breaking the rules here, but I plan on taking our bridal party through the resorts after our reception. Post 2:00pm.

We're thinking of getting GF shots we missed, and photos at the Poly, Boardwalk, Contemporary, Yacht and Beach Club, and even the Swan and Dolphin. Maybe SBP if no one is there and nothing's set up. This will be done by family who are good with cameras, not our actual photographer. And, I totally plan to be in my wedding dress.

Obviously, if another bride is there, we'll go back later. I don't want to steal anyone else's moment. I'll even do it the next day if I have to.

So I was an Escape bride and we 1) didn't know there was a rule about brides not seeing each other, and 2) didn't even check with my planner about taking photos in the GF. We just did because we were already there! Our cake cutting was in Whitehall, our cocktail hour was in Mizner's Lounge, and our reception dinner at Citricos.

I understand Disney not wanting brides to see each other, but photos in the gorgeous GF are a once in a lifetime opportunity! Dramatic, but totally true. In fact, we DID see another bride taking photos in the GF while were were there taking photos. I didn't care and my photographer worked around her so we were on the upper level while she was on the stairs. It certainly didn't stop us. I personally think that if you want photos there, it's your wedding day too, so why should you be stopped from getting them...My GF photos are probably my absolute favorite, I wouldn't give that location up for anything!

Hey girl! I'm the 2:30 Wishes bride on 11/10! My pictures begin in the lobby at 1:30. My groom's pictures are at 12:30. We take the coach over at 2:15. This is all the info I can give you because it's all I know! :)

I think there was another bride when I was at the GF as well and we just went someone else, the GF is pretty big.

I don't see how they can say it will be a problem having your photos done at the GF just because there are weddings all day at the WP :confused3 seen as anyone is entitled to visit the resorts at any time be it in a wedding dress or not, surely they are free to take pictures if they want? it's not like when a bride books the WP the GF is also completely reserved for a 'slot' so only she can be there while having photos taken.

I have to slightly disagree with everyone because when you book the WP, the GF is designated as your area to take pictures before the ceremony. As my planner explained it, it's because it's close by and your guests won't see you before the ceremony. You do not have to have your pics done there but it is designated for you with a time schedule worked out for the bride and groom to be there. I doubt anyone has ever been turned away in their wedding dress because another bride is in there, but I do think that if you choose to go over to the GF in your wedding dress for pictures and another bride is there you should be respectful and make sure she is allowed to get all her pics done quickly without waiting for you because she is on a time schedule for the WP ceremony start time. I personally would have no problem if another bride was taking pictures... but I would be peeved if I was a WP bride had to miss some shots because I was waiting for another bride to finish in certain areas. You may not be able to come back later because by then another WP bride might be having her photos. I'm just throwing in a different perspective no offense to anyone and no offense to the OP, I know everyone just wants a magical day with fabulous pictures :goodvibes

Considering I'm the 2:30 bride, I agree. :goodvibes:

I certainly don't want to get in anyones way--especially Liz's :goodvibes. I'm not looking for so much in the lobby as I am around the fountain, the hammocks, maybe a little by Narcoossee's Landing and outside in the resort. Sure a few would be nice inside--but I'm way more focused outside. Accuweather isn't saying very nice things right now either :sad2: But that's a whole other story.

I'm sure it'll all work out--I can't imagine this is the first time something like this has come up--but I just wanted to see what others' experiences were. I don't want to be obtrusive to someone who paid 10 times what I did... but I also did pay for my small bit of time and want to assure I get pictures I have dreamed about too. I think it's fair to think both ways. What I don't think is fair is that I was told about this 2 weeks before my wedding when I expressed all my plans over 3 months ago. I fear I wouldn't have been told until even later if I hadn't sent an email to confirm my details for the day earlier this week. I guess it just took me by surprise and since I'm down to the wire, I immediately got stressed.

Thank you all for responding... Liz.... I won't get in your way I promise!!

All I ask is that were not shoving each other to get pictures in the same place at the same time! :rotfl:

I have no issues with seeing you the same day! It makes it kind of cool since I kind of know you too! :)
