Am not trying to press any buttons or cause a debate. I am also not trying to game the system. I am just trying to figure out logistics.

I am staying at YC. I have a CM reservation at 8 am. I also have a TIW card, so I intend to use it for the free valet parking. After CM, I would like to go to MK for a few hours (until lunch time). Would it be ok to leave my car at the valet at contemporary for this whole 4-4.5 hour duration (inclusive of breakfast)? Will it still be free? If not, how much additional will I be charged?

The main reason I would like to take my car for breakfast is that DD has a BBB reservation at 2:00 at DTD and I thought it would be more convenient and less time consuming to drive there.

If Contemp does not honor your TiW card for valet parking, the valet parking fee is $15. You can ask when you arrive to see how much time you are allotted.

According to the TIW website, free valet parking at a resort is only to be used specifically for dining at that resort. Not for any other reason.

So, no, you cannot use the TIW card to park at the CR, dine at Chef Mickey's and then go to the MK.

I would say ask the hotel, however I was told last year that it was fine to pay the $15 to valet park and then go to MK for the day, and indeed, I did just that, having breakfast at CM early, then doing MK from open until close with no problem.

Just to be clear, I have NO idea what effect using the TIW card has on this, I didn't have one. I paid cash for the valet parking. $15 isn't a bad price to pay though, certainly no more than hiring a taxi to get you there.

you're staying at YC so you get free parking at Theme Parks anyway.
If you want to go to MK after CM, the easiest will be to park at TTC and do just a bit of walking (for an 8am ADR you should not be parked far from the monorail station) that will be as much walking as you'll walk from CR to MK, or as much monorail as you would ride from CR to MK.

Thanks for the idea! Assuming I can get my people ready early enough - this is definitely the way to go.

We are going to MK in the morning and will be paying the parking fee as we are offsite. We will come back to our condo for a break and then have ressies at CM for dinner. Can we leave our car in self-park and walk to MK? We already paid for parking so it's not a problem to go back to the TTC but it would be nice to avoid having to park super far, take the tram and then the monorail.

If this is against the rules, we won't do it. Just wondering. Thanks.

Because you will be paying for parking, just valet park at Contemporary in the morning and walk to MK. Valet parking is valid for the complete day, so, you will pay when you leave to take your break. When you return for your CM dinner, you won't have to pay as the car's license plate is in their valet system for that day. It is a short walk to MK from Contemporary and much faster retrieving the car from valet than exiting the MK parking lot,

This is EXACTLY what I needed to know! Thanks for posting!!:thumbsup2

According to the TiW website, when you valet park for dining, you bring a dining receipt back to the car with you. The free valet parking is intended for the time you are eating. So, I would imagine that if valet saw that you parked at 7:45 and returned at 12-1, they could very well charge you.
Now, that's not to say you can't do it...just be aware of what could happen. I would just park at the TTC and monorail over. Short monorail ride back to the TTC and to your car.

We had a The Wave ADR for early morning. Staying onsite and with TIW, but we wanted to just stay parked all day instead of the 3 hours with free TIW Valet. So...we paid for Valet. More expensive, but simple.

Chef Mickey - restaurant @ Contemporary

Thank you! That's what I thought but with all the suggestions I felt like they couldn't be talking about Chef Mickey.

I am a disney transportation person so maybe I have this all wrong but wouldn't the simplest and fastest option be to park at the resort where you plan to have breakfast or dinner then when finished just park at the TTC to start or end your day at MK? It's good exercise and all but doesn't it seem like alot of running around?

So I'm hijacking this old thread- just to be clear:

I can valet park for my ADR at 7am at the Contemporary. I can drive away after the ADR and come BACK and park 'for free' for our MNSSHP time that night at 6pm.

How long of a walk is it from the contemporary to the MK entrance? We have an ADR at Tony's at 6:30 that night. Wondering what time we will need to arrive at the valet to make it.
