Hello everyone. My family and I will be making our first trip in nearly five years to WDW. We will be staying at the Art of Animation. I am trying to tie up some planning loose ends. At some point I heard that the bus transportation at the parks DOES NOT offer its services to Downtown Disney.

Is this accurate?

The tentative plans for the last day of our trip is, basically, enjoy MK followed by dinner at T-Rex. If the aforementioned is true, how long of a trip can we expect taking buses from MK, back to AoA, the over to Downtown?

Thanks for any help and suggestions?!!

I believe bus service from the parks to Downtown Disney is not offered, but if you are at MK instead of taking the bus all the way back to AoA and then to DD just take the resort monorail to the Contemporary and then take the bus to DD from there.

Your information is accurate, and both previous posters have offered a great alternative. I also agree walking to CR is the better option.

I was just going to say walk over to the Contemporary. Sometimes the monorail can take longer than expected...:sad2:

If you wanted to take the scenic route, you could take a bus from MK to either Port Orleans-Riverside or Port Orleans French Quarter and then take the boat to Downtown Disney...then a bus back to Art of Animation...

We are staying at the Contemporary and plan on walking to MK to grab a bus to Port Orleans and take a boat OR take a bus to Sarasota Springs and just walk to DTD. I hear that traffic is a mess in and around DTD due to all the construction, so I think these alternatives might even save time too.

I'd walk to the Contemporary and bus to DTD

Wow. You guys are awesome. I've been to Disney before, but this is the first time I actually did any thorough planning and I must have gotten tunnel vision, only thinking of my resort. Excellent advice by everyone. I would love for my DD5 to experience the monorail or the ferry. I mean, walking seems like the most efficient route, but if there's time a 'quick' monorail ride or ferry ride can be fun.

Thank you! This board is awesome.
