Resort ONLY-Major Gates AP-Would you buy?

Would you purchase an AP tied exclusively to WDW Resort stays?

Heck, I would be happy if I could buy a 10-day PH with a year to use it.

I'm out of bounds here, but since it's my hypothetical anyway...

I would expect the pricing of such a pass as this to be right around the pricing of a 10 day PH. As I have brainstormed this over the years, that is exactly the ticket I have imagined it replacing when it used to exist in its non-expiring state.

We would definitely buy AP’s tied to resort stays if the price was reasonable and there were no blackout dates. I don’t mind if they have tiers with some having blackout dates and others without blackouts, but there should be a decent DVC discount for all tiers.

No. We will generally spend a couple of days on site but not the entire time. We like to be able to go whenever, during the 2 weeks we're in town. We like to enjoy the resorts on resort days and go to parks when we're off site.

Then you're not a candidate for an AP anyway under those parameters so this wouldn't be applicable to you anyway.

sure I would be as I have resort stays booked. I would just prefer a full use AP. I think what you're talking about would be more like a 10 day non expiring ticket. I'm all for bringing those back!

The hypothetical Is an "in addition to" as opposed to a "replacement of." In your situation with the offsite stays, an offering like this wouldn't even really be intended for you unless your off-site visits never include WDW.

I would buy the AP even if it wasn't PH.
After so many trips, I can easily schedule & enjoy one park per day.

I don't mind if weekends are excluded.
I plan & enjoy a few no-park days each trip anyway.

I stretch my points visits booking non-DVC WDW properties for cash sometimes if there's a deal...
So including ALL properties would be nice.

Great idea!

Now, having laid all that out there, would you and your family buy an AP that was exclusively tied to resort only stays? This pass would be exclusively for the 4 major gates. Maybe there's an upcharge for WP&M, but maybe not. Let's not even throw that part in there for purposes of this poll. As with any AP offering, however; PH is, of course, included.
Short answer...... YES

In a perfect world it would be....
1. priced below the UOAP price
2. not require park reservations
3. allow PH all day (not just after 2pm)
4. no blackout dates

Im up for whatever AP fits my travel style for the right price.

Right now, Sorcerer renewal is $764 plus tax so I am not sure how much less they could price it.

Maybe similar to the Pirate Pass for FL residents? That was like $599

And yes, I know those prices could rise when they start selling again, but using for reference and comparison.
What I would love is a weekday only DVC pass.
My renewal was 900 ish dollars with tax today

No, I didn’t add anything,

I was kinda grumpy too (pun intended) because I expected it to be in the 750 range!

Could you have not been given the renewal rate? That would be $899/ plus tax. I would call back and make sure you were charged correctly...I have not see that the renewal rate had gone up.

We are from Texas, only go to WDW when staying at DVC/on-site, and because I am cheap as heck with my points, typically stay Sunday - Friday. I am already an AP holder since we are now coming 3-4 times a year (sometimes for a working vacation and only go to parks in the evening). So we would totally be down for a resort-only AP in a multi-level option (weekdays vs weekends and/or holiday blackouts).

I feel like a resort only AP is an elegant solution for DVC owners. This would ensure that Disney is still making their money with a captive audience while not punishing a high affinity group.

The Sorcerer Pass is priced well enough that I don’t see this happening unless they want to replace that.

Except for those MAJOR blackout dates during major DVC times.

That is almost exactly the ticket we need. That price with no BO dates.

But isn't this meant to "add" a new option to DVC owners who are currently"locked out" of being able to obtain an AP?

I know some owners that would take this for sure if offered.

Seems like DVC owners should always be offered some type of AP. Also to promote new sales and add ons.

It would be nice for DPEP to offer DVC owners something but they are a different division than DVD and have their own reasons, goals, etc for their area..which is parks. I have said many times, if DVD had the power to influence them to sell us something, it would be happening.

My point was more that they a have the pass for us that is priced well so I don’t see any other type of ticket being offered unless the get rid of they one we have.

They don’t want to sell APs right now to anyone but FL residents and that is only the pixie pass. I’d be happy to be able to get that.

Or, bring back a multi day ticket that can be used within a year over. This way, it helps owners without needing to sell any actual AP.

I would be interested in an on site/AP for sure ,and as others have noted without BO dates or non PH. Right now we are still living off of our Non Expiring tickets, but we are getting close to the end of the road for those.
