Resort Near Coronado Springs

I just found out that the YMCA is having their annual conference at Coronado Springs in November (6th - 9th.) I really want to go, but Disney's "convention rate" is $130/night (only a $3 discount from the regular rate! ) Since their will be a ton of people there, I'm afraid I won't be able to use any discounts. (Yes, my YMCA would pay for me to go, but we're a poor "Y" & I'd like to save money) So I was thinking that maybe I could stay at a nearby resort & walk (hopefully) to Coronado Springs each day. Any suggestions?

The closest resort would be All Star Sports. It's a pretty long walk to CSR though.

Not only would it be a long walk, I do not think you would be permitted to walk along the Disney highways. I think any savings you might get on a room would be quickly eaten up in cab fares and/or travel time. Going resort to resort on Disney transportation takes roughly an hour and a half. You could travel by direct bus from an Epcot area resort but I don't think you'd find a lower price room there -- not even at Swan/Dolphin.

The quickest way I can think of to get from All Stars to Coronado (without a car) would be to take a bus from All Stars to Blizzard Beach and then BB to Coronado, but that wouldn't work early in the morning since BB isn't open until 10. You might want to consider All Stars or an offsite hotel and rent a car. The amount of money you save on the hotel would more than pay for the car. Especially if you stay offsite - you could get a nice hotel from Priceline for under $40.

BTW, thanks for the info on the convention. I'm planning to stay at CS sometime in November and don't want to get in the middle of a big convention!
