Resort Mugs Practice

There are established criterias when dealing with the Resort Mugs in what guests are allowed to do with the Resort Mugs.

However, just because a guest is the possession of a particular Resort Mug that doesn't neccessarily correlate with the resort that the guest is actually staying in doesn't mean that the guest cannot deviate from the practice of using the mug freely.

From what I've seen over the course of years at WDW, individualized flexibility does exist contigent upon the time of day or evening, the amount of Cast Members on duty and/or the Resort

Does anyone have any input...Please share. :wave2:

I think someone got a thesaurus for Christmas this year!

As long as you have the mugs nobody seems to care. We use ours that we bought 15 years ago at the Caribbean Beach and we were told on our last trip we could use them.

I would be more than enthusiastic to involve myself in a mutually satisfactory discussion regarding this concept if I were able to discern exactly what the discussion is!!!

Or...for the more feeble minded of us...yes, we know what the 'policy' is. We also know that said 'policy' is seldom enforced. Do whatever you feel is right. Just don't be looking for re-enforcement from me if you decide to go against 'said policy'. I personally do not reuse. That's MY choice. But then again...I only put 4 in a room at AllStarMusic, and I buy adult APs for the discount on rooms. And my dd has always stated her correct age for park passes. And I cross at crosswalks, wait an hour before swimming and never wear white shoes after Labor Day!!

I think people are going to do whatever they want to do in regards to the mugs. I personally think that since it states clearly on the signs near the mugs that they are good for only the length of your current stay at your resort that that is what they should be used for. I think it's wrong to take advantage of CMs who either don't know better or who are tired of arguing about it. But, you (collective you) can do whatever you like. Do I think you're wrong? Yes. Is there anything I can do about it? No. This topic has been hashed out again and again and I hazard to guess that nothing that hasn't already been said is going to come up in this thread.

Teeheehee. :rotfl2: Me too! Well, except for the white shoes after Labor Day thing. Clinton and Stacey on What Not To Wear have clearly dispelled that rumor. ;)

If, as you say, a guest is the possession of a particular Resort Mug, then I guess it would be up to the mug! :goodvibes

Ok, how about this? If those who want to reuse their mugs want to, let them. If you are not a mug reusers, and you see someone reusing their mug, and you feel it nesseccary to do something about it, do it.

But for those mug reusers out there, if Disney does do something about it, becomes stricter about it, don't get all upset.

For the record, I am not a mug reuser. If you read another refillable mug thread, you will know my mugs get STOLEN!

I tend to disagree. I stick very strongly to the no white shoes/pants/skirts after Labor Day rule. I love me some Clinton and Stace... but they also live in NYC... I live in Colonial Williamsburg. I may be ahead of the times for where I live, but I'm not THAT ahead of the times! :rotfl:

Well, to be honest, I don't even own a pair of white shoes (or pants or skirts), so the rule has no bearing on me anyway. I was just trying to be argumentative. :rolleyes1 Hehehehe.

I'll have to remember that one for some "personnel" correspondence I've been receiving lately at work!

JK - It's good to see people utilizing their education. :goodvibes It took me months to unlearn my newly acquired impressive/expensive vocabulary from my English degree so that I could write community newspaper copy that was acceptable to the editor! :confused3

At least someone decided to post an intelligent response. ;)

Hey, I'm devastated now...I thought at least part of my response was 'intelligent'. :rolleyes1

But, have to say...my recent mugs all say 'for use during current resort stay, at this resort ony' or something to that effect. I'm way to lazy to go downstairs and get the mug and get the 'official' wording. My older mugs have nothing on them, but there was signage at the mug display that said use for this stay only. And my very first mugs, from DxL, there was nothing said or written anywhere, but that was in '99.

When I read the OP, I was thinking they were asking what do you do if you are doing a split stay. I have never put a lot of thought into the mug issure because first off, we usually stay concierge and don't need to get a mug, and second off, the policy on mugs is pretty clear, they are good for the length of your stay and that's it. However, let's say you start off at the Beach Club, for instance, buy a mug and then transfer to the Poly for the second half of your trip. Do you then buy another mug or is the first mug good for the length of your stay? What is the answer to that question, does anyone know?

.. I too live near Colonial Williamsburg and after having seen some of things people wear there before after and during labor day, i think white shoes is the least of the worries :confused3
