Resort lobby "smells/scents"

Just got back from Coronado Springs GDT. I would buy a candle or something with that scent in a New York minute. It’s amazing.

Royal Pacific at Universal had the most amazing scent in the lobby. Quite the contrast to the one night I spent at Vegas where the lobby smelt like Marlboros and desperation...

I agree!

So, I've read about the resort "scents" for years. I think I must have a broken sniffer because I do not detect any smells anywhere. I've stayed at GF, Contemporary, etc. and visited many others and never do I smell anything. Just two weeks ago I was staying at the GF, in an outer building, but walked through the main lobby and never smelled a THING. One day, in my outer building, a CM was polishing/cleaning the tile in the lobby and it had a very floral smell. Not unpleasant. And I thought"Is this what people are talking about? My God, it's cleaning solution!!"

Then one day we decided to go take a look at the Gran Destino tower (beautiful) and OMG the lobby area smelled wonderful. It is the first time in all my trips that I actually experienced a scent at a resort.

All Star Movies had their scent machine set to INTENSE...they have a nutmeg smell in there now, the diffuser is across from the check in desk (my company uses the same machine as wdw so I spotted it right away). We smelled like it the whole trip!

I don’t think it’s your sniffer. Lol.
I just think sometimes they’re pumping through scents and other times they’re not.

A couple of years ago I stayed at POFQ over Christmas and the lobby smell was intoxicatingly amazing! Sadly, last year over Christmas, there was no real detectable scent and I sniffed real hard. Lol.

I love the musty water smell because it reminds me of The Polynesian as a kid in the 80's. It had the watervall then and had a super musty/old water smell. I can remember sniffing in the air of old air conditioners on other vactions because it brought me back to my happy place... I still will say to my family at random occasions "Do you guys smell that? It smells like Disney!" Think water smell on Splash Mountain and Pirates... The Magic Candle Company sells candles that mimic the smells of Disney.
Do you know which candle smells like “Disney Water” from the Magic Candle Company? I didn’t see a candle specially named that. I was thinking maybe pirates but wasn’t sure.

POFQ is some kind of flowering tree with a hint of jasmine smell.
I personally love it but to each their own.

Stayed at Caribbean Beach in December and the smell in the lobby was strong without being nauseating. Really nice scent. It was sort of fruity and sweet but not really floral.

Riviera smell is a strong perfume aroma. Irritated my eyes as well as companions' eyes, made me nauseated and gave me a headache. I alerted staff of symptoms and they acknowledged that some guests are having negative physical reactions/symptoms to their chemical air infusions. I wish they would be more mindful of limiting synthetic infusions into the air we are breathing for medical safety reaaons.

The Bath and Body Works candle called Tis the Season smells like the Grand Floridian at Christmas. The cleaning spray from Caldrea in Ginger Pomelo also smells like the GF . I guess that’s what they use . It smells very bougie !

Old Key West smelled of coconut, as did Caribbean Beach I think. I don't remember what any of the other resorts I've stayed at smelled like.
