Resort Indecision

I'm thinking about doing a solo trip in October for a week. I usually only do a half day at the parks and spend some time at the resort. I'm trying to decide which resort would be best to stay at that has the most to do or amenities. My budget is limited to a value or moderate so I've been looking at either Port Orleans or Coronado Springs. Does anyone have any insight to these resorts? In the past I've stayed at AKL, POP and Swan.

I would advise The Poly great food and go out on Beach see and WISHES at MK. Plus you can see electric water parade. Just a suggestion have a great time where ever you use to stay.

I would do French Quarter for sure. Some reasons: smaller resort; only one bus stop; boat transport to Disney Springs; bar with music; short walk to Riverside for additional eating options & bike rental. On my only solo trip, I stayed at Coronado Springs for a conference; very big resort; four bus stops, so it took forever to even get out of the resort.

I agree with Toadi - the French Quarter is a great resort - fir all the reasons listed above! It's definitely one of my favorites. If you choose it, you won't regret it.

If you do not like New Orleans and are more laid back type - PO-RS (Old DL) is my choice.
It is an old southern charm place and you still have the boat ride to DS.

100% agree with Port Orleans French Quarter!! I absolutely love this resort and the vibe is super chill. If I were on a solo trip then I would not hesitate to stay there.

Agreed. I have stayed at the French Quarter multiple times and it is super convenient due to the size. The resort never seems busy or crowded and has a great atmosphere.

My last solo trip was a split stay between Coronado Springs and French Quarter. I MUCH preferred French Quarter.

Port Orleans has such a great atmosphere. It's just a really nice place to relax during the day with some beignets, sit along the river, or take a boat to Disney Springs. French Quarter has a nice compact layout, while Riverside is a sprawling beautiful estate. The rooms are nothing too special as far as hotels go, but the theming across the grounds is top notch Disney. The best of the moderates.

I haven't been to Coronado Springs. I haven't heard as many people rave about it or declare it their favorite. I'm seriously considering it on my short list for a future trip, because it is the only moderate with a health club. And even with all the walking, I want to keep up my routine.

I've not stayed at FQ but I have stayed at Riverside and Coronado. I liked Riverside better, and FQ is supposed to be nicer still, so I'll vote for FQ as well.

I'll throw my vote in for POFQ. Lovely smaller, relaxing.

Thank you everyone for your suggestions! POFQ has been on my radar for a long time so that definitely narrows down my choice.

I personally like POFQ better than Riverside, it's a smaller resort, so there's just less people at it, less bus crowding, AND only one stop vs going through the entire resort for multiple stops. You can also use all the amenities of Riverside via staying at it.
-boats to FQ/Riverside available, and DTD
-pools, hot tubs
-running/walking/jogging path
-carriage rides
-Riverside has an awesome lounge with Yeehaw Bob playing, which can be an awesome time!

Now Coronado (IN MY OPINION)
would be my choice for a solo adult trip if i was planning on more resort time and thanks to it having the convention center and such,(simply because of the gym) there's usually more adults staying at the resort, and many more solo travellers.
-Lounges are great
-quick service is awesome, great food, build your own salads are delicious
-running/jogging trail (around the resort)
-they're the only moderate that has a GYM, so that's a major pull for me
-hot tubs & pools as per usual

Now, all in all, i do like POFQ MUCH better, but the gym is, as said, a major pull
