Resort hopping with free dining?

We're booked at POFQ but thought about splitting our stay at CSR for half the trip. When I called to inquire if there was an opening, she said we'd have to buy a one day my way ticket for everyone if we wanted to change resorts. I know sometimes some CMs will say one thing and others will say something else, is this a hard and fast rule or does it depend on who you talk to? TIA!

You must book a package to get the Disney Dining plan. A package includes at least a 1 day ticket for all members of your party. So yes, if you have a split stay and want the Dining plan for each part of your stay you must buy at least a one day base ticket for every member of your party for each part of your split stay.

You do not need to use that one day ticket however. You could save it for a future stay.

That is correct. It's 2 different packages entirely which means purchasing tickets for each stay.

Yep, it's true and along with having to buy tickets for everyone again remember that with the free dining package you have to stay a minimum of 3 nights in each resort.
