Resort hopping from the fort

If you don't want to use a park ticket at all, then go back to the Studios after touring the Epcot resorts and take a bus from the Studios to the Contemporary.

I'm curious and I'm sure you had a good reason for suggesting that they go back to HS after touring the Epcot resorts and taking the bus to the Contemporary instead of taking the MK bus from the last Epcot resort they visit and picking up the MK Resorts monorail at MK.

Yes I did, actually. I HATE hopping on a bus from the Epcot resorts, cause a lot of the times you end up stopping at several of the Epcot resorts by bus before heading on to your destination. By taking a quick stroll back to the Studios and taking the Contemporary bus from there, you avoid the grand circle bus tour of the Epcot resorts. Also from the Studios you have the choice of hopping on the TTC bus and catching the resort monorail there.

I knew you had a reason but I thought that you were going to say that your way would have put them at one of the MK resorts and they wouldn't have to take a Monorail to the first one. Another reason to go with your method.

If you do find yourself at the Epcot resort area, tired of walking, and want to avoid the multiple bus stops going back to MK, take either the BC or the Dolphin bus. The standard MK bus stop sequence is BW, Swan, with the Dolphin being the last stop before heading back to MK. Or YC, BC, with BC being the last stop before MK. Having said that, every once in a while and only during slow times, MK combines all 5 Epcot resorts into one run. But it's rare, unlike the the AK & DTD buses where the standard run is all 5.

Thanks for the info!!! I never can seem to figure that out.

Also to confuse the waters even more, it will depend on what time of day it is as to whether the OP will want to head to MK from one of the Epcot resorts, or head to the Studios and take a bus to one of the MK resorts.

In the morning it is MUCH better to go from resort to park.

In the afternoon, and the closer you get to closing time is is much better to from park to resort.

(So how many more obscure transportation twists can we add to this thread) ;):teacher:

You are just too observant. Want to be a driver. But you're absolutely right. We concentrate on getting people into the parks in the AM and getting them out in the PM. But we really do try to do the opposite, not always succesfull though.

Thanks so much to all of you for taking the time to explain all of this. I really, really appreciate it. I think I have it figured out... we will not be using a park ticket for our resort hopping day... so:

DH wants breakfast at Poly... so we board boat to Contemporary. Take monorail to Poly for breakfast. Then tour resorts that are available from monorail. Get off monorail at MK or Contemporary? take bus to AKL and tour. From AKL take bus to Studios, walk around Boardwalk, take bus back to MK... boat back to FW. :faint:

will that work???
