Will be in the world in 1 week and will be staying at Coronado and AKL. Was wondering how does one with no car go from one hotel to the next? I know your luggage will be transfered by bell services{I think}. Do I have to take a bus to a park then to my new hotel? Do I have to take a cab? Thanks

Yes, you would have to take a bus to a park or DTD (depending on time of day).
If you elect to do this, take the AK bus from CSR and then the AKL bus from AK.
This will save you a few $$ cabwise. If you elect to take a cab, it should not be that much as CSR is rather close to AKL. ;)

Hey FierceAXboi, we will be doing the exact same thing: starting at CS and then moving to AK. This is our first flying trip and first split resort stay. We are also flying into MCO with no car. I wanted a value resort and then AK concierge, but they didn't have any values left at the discount I was looking for. Have you decided on any room request for CS or AK? That is what I'm pondering now.

Hope you enjoy your trip.

I know this isn't the most common way to do a split stay, but we always pack our bags, check out and take a cab to our new resort. The most we have ever paid for a cab was $13.00 + tip - and that was from the Poly to the AKL. It would be less for a shorter trip, like yours will be. *I have to point out, this was only for two people, if you have a larger party - say, 5 or more - you would need a van, and that would be more.*

We have found this to be the easiest, most efficient way to split a trip. If you prefer to save the cab fare, then by all means, have bell services transfer your bags and take WDW transportation to your new resort, that's not a bad way to go.

HTH! :wave2:

We always check out, let them transer luggage, then go to the parks. We just make sure we get on the right bus going to the new resort that evening/afternoon.

We have split between YC and CSR.

I would cab it between resorts.
Reason #1 - most convient
Reason #2 - I have read letting WDW move your luggage to the new WDW resort - the luggage most likely arrives late in the day 5pm or 6pm. You may want an item from your luggage when you return to the new WDW resort and it will not be there.

Depending on how much luggage we have - I may even ask the limo service to move us.

I do not think cabs can do 4 suitcases, 2 kid bags, ane 2 other small adult bags with all our other 'stuf'.
A town car trunk can fit our stuff :grouphug:

Has anyone ever called the second resort to see if a room would be ready for an early check in?

If I knew a room was available, it would be worth have a cab take the family/luggage over to it. If I wasn't able to check in until 3:00, then that may affect whether I wanted to pay the extra charge for the cab.

Call the other resort the day before you arrive and ask them to hold a room for you for an early check in. If they aren't full, the might do it. Or, call the morning you switch to see if they have a room ready for you. Also, cab is the only way to go.
