Resort Hopping And Baggage Question....

I have heard, that, even if you change your hotel every day, you can call to have your bags picked up before you leave your room, have them transfer the bags to the next resort, without issue. I understand that they can transfer the bags to the next hotel, but they won't know your room number, so you have to call them when you get there. Now, also, do you have to be in the room to receive your bags? Disney txt you with your room number, so I assume you can call, even though you are not at the hotel, and ask to have your bags delivered, but, must you be there? Thanks!

You can either call bell services from your room and have them deliver your luggage or go to bell services and pick it up yourself. If you have them deliver, someone has to be in the room at the time of delivery. I think bags can be delivered from DME when nobody is in the room (I'm not positive, hopefully someone else can verify that or correct me if I'm wrong), but for a transfer someone has to be present in the room.

Thanks for clarifying . I thought they did, but we've never used DME so I wasn't sure.

don't know if it has changed, but about 5 years ago, they did deliver the luggage to the room. but not the box with the liquor.. we had to be in the room to accept that. makes sense. (talking about resort to resort, not DME)

We've done the split stay several times and had zero issues with our luggage. The bags are at our new resort when we arrive. Enjoy the split stay - we enjoy it!

I assume you went to a park first> becaust the few times we had disney transport our luggage it took quite a few hours. and a bus transfer to a new resort is not always simple.

don't get me wrong, Disney does a great job and this is a wonderful extra service!!! but lately we found it easier to just grab a cab.
but it is cool to check out. go to a park, and when you get to the new rosort, your bags are there!

we just like to be there for check in early.. we are notorious for saying "um, we really aren't fond of that room location.. what else ya got?"

I hand off my bags by 7:30am.....I have never, ever had my bags at my new resort before 5pm. Not once. Drives me nuts. And because they want to be sure you're there to tip them, you have to be in the room in order to get the bags!
