Resort hopping allowed?

I have this same question. We will be there for a few days in late August, no ticket and not sure if we can get one “later in summer”. If we can’t resort hop, and if the bikes and mini golf are also not operating then that might seal the deal to cancel.

I am watching for this feedback as well. I stay on the Monorail loop, Coming in September this trip, and hoping that I am able to resort hop.

from what i understand, only if you have a dining reservation..makes sense if capacity is limited.

"Among the updates, we learned that in order to continue the efforts of controlled guest capacity and to aid in proper social distancing, day guests, or guests that want to visit the resort hotels must have a dining reservation."

Edit: from official WDW site for resorts under the special notices.. Looks clear cut to me. You would be a day guest if not staying at that resort.
"A confirmed dining reservation if you’re a day Guest (not staying overnight)"

At this time only if you have a confirmed Dining reservation at the resort you want to visit. A list will be checked.

Thank you ... that me smile. I mentally pictured a burly bouncer looking Cast Member standing at the red roped off entrance , looking at their clipboard, then looking at me over the top of their Dark sunglasses Saying ... “Your NOT on the list“ ... and me digging for a twenty , only to remember they are trying to go cashless:)

If you are at a monorail resort how could that be enforced? As you get off the monorail you have to show a reservation? thats impossible

Not really impossible. They could have the restaurant QR scan they are now using when you exit the monorail. Or scan your band when you enter or exit the monorail. Who knows. You could just do what you want regardless of whatever rule they have in place. The whole point is limiting guests and social distancing. This year will not be the business as usual at WDW possibly for the rest of the year.

But how would that be possible? When all the cars open at the contemporary or floridian how could they scan everyone that gets off? They'd have to hold the monorail for 15 minutes at every stop while they scanned people as they got off

I really hope that by opening day they will announce resort guests can resort hop without a dining reservation! I am also on the monorail loop, so this is something we enjoy.

I agree, I’m not sure how this would be possible to enforce with most resorts. Cast members at every door of every resort.. scanning magic bands.. assuming everyone is wearing a magic band.. causing lines.. just doesn’t seem practical.

As a backup, we’re just going to make ADRs for the resorts we want to hop to (assuming we can get them).

yeah us too....maybe monorail resorts would be able to resort hop to only other monorail resorts....that could be controlled a little easier...just scanning at the MK for the resort monorial

We are doing a split stay at the Poly and BLT. I am really hoping to get over to Geyser Point at WL for lunch. I don't think they take ADRs there. I'm hoping they figure out a way for resort guests to have some meal options at other resorts that aren't necessarily TS meals.

We have the same dilemma. We were considering making an ADR at Whispering Canyon to be sure we could at least get into WL. If I got the sense that reservations were hard to come by I would cancel so I’m not taking a spot away from someone else.. But otherwise I’m fine paying a $10 no show to at least get into the resort 🤷🏻‍♀️

Yes, same here. My six year old son, of all places, loves Roaring Forks at WL. I am not sure if they are doing mobile order, but I wonder if mobile orders will be considered reservations?

LOL, not sure what the protocol is for checking, maybe someone will have an update.

For the monorail resorts, it might be that they stop you at bag check before you get on. If you do not have a reservation to either one of the other resorts or a park reservation to MK, they do not let you through.

It still would be hard since you can just walk between TTC, Poly and GF and then MK and CR.
