Love the Disney touches in your room and the kitchen looks fantastic! Great find on those Mickey dishes!
Thanks! The classroom is fun and I'm enjoying the kitchen. The dishes were a great find!
Thanks for showing all the steps, it turned out really nice! I like the darker color a lot better. I have dark green countertops. They do show dust better though, not that my house gets dusty
I also love the Mickey dishes. What kind of market do you have? Probably not Publix, right?!
We never got the last coat on the counter so I don't know how it would have looked with the gloss, I'm sure it would have looked better than it did, but not as good as the dark color.
I do know the charcoal will show dust more...
No, we don't have Publix here.
The Mickey dishes are very cute!!!
Do you remember where you got the Tiffany-style light over your table? That's the kind of light I want in our kitchen.
Happy First Day of School tomorrow to you, Marc, and Baylor!!!
The Tiffany style lamp was here when we bought the house. We will bubble wrap it up and send it to you!
Jill said she thought they might have seen those at Target. You might check their website or stores around you.
I hope Target has some serving bowls and plates.
Maybe when she takes it out, she can just send it to you.
Exactly!

Thanks for posting the before and after pictures. I really love the black. It looks so great. WOW! Nice job!
I am showing them to Denny now!
I hope Denny says yes!
Your classroom is fabulous. I love the potato head idea. You're kids are going to have so much fun playing with all those parts.
Your kitchen looks great. The black really looks much better than the original pictures. Phase 2 is going to be a lot of work. We've pulled wallpaper before and it's tedious.
I hope your shoulder is getting better and you have pain free days soon.
Good luck with the start of school. Those kids are lucky to have a Disney inspired teacher.
I think we need to rent a heavy duty steamer to get the paper off. I hear that will do the trick.
The shoulder is moving better, the pain is hanging around but Carl says i'm better so I'll just believe him.
So far so good on the class, they seem like a good bunch!
Your kitchen looks fantastic!
I love the Mickey dishes and mugs. I will definitely be on the lookout for those in stores over here.
Thanks on the kitchen, I can't wait to get it all finished!
I hope you find some Mickey dishes!
Your classroom looks great! I know your students will love it!
The kitchen counter looks good too. I guess originally it was going to be the lighter color til the rag incident? I like the darker color. I had someone pull down my wallpaper and paint my kitchen not too long ago. Wallpaper is a pain!!! Hope yours comes off easy! I could stand to do some remolding in my kitchen as well. I have the same wood trim around my windows too.
Hope your first day with the kids goes well!

Happy birthday to Harper!

We have not had the best luck with taking down wallpaper in some of the other rooms in our house. I'm sure that's why we are dragging our feet getting started in the kitchen.
We did start out with a lighter color in the kitchen then the rag incident so went with the darker, I'm much happier with the darker!
First day was great and Harper's birthday was fun! Thanks!
First of all I adore your classroom especially with all the Disney touches!!!! It just looks like such an inviting place to be and to learn!!!!
Your kitchen is amazing!!! Where did Marc find those dishes???? I so want a set!!! I loved the picture with the Mickey Mugs and the new countertops, looked fantastic!!!
Thanks on the classroom, when you get up our way I hope you have time to take a short tour of my room!
Marc found the dishes at Dillon's Marketplace.
They have a similar set in green.
I loved the way the brown dishes matched the kitchen colors.
I love your classroom. I also love your new kitchen counter tops. You can add me to the list that wants to know where you got those Mickey plates. I hope your first day of school with the kids goes well.
We had a great first day!
The dishes came from Dillon's it's a Kroger chain.
Your classroom looks great!!! The reading corner is really cute.
Love the counter top too! Maybe I could convince my landlord...

Are you onto the next project in the kitchen already, or is it all going to happen later?
I hope the next phase starts this weekend. Not sure what it will be, maybe the lights or the ceiling fan.
Aw Anita I love your classroom. So inviting

Love the reading corner & the little boats with Mickey & gang.
Your counter tops came out great!! I cannot wait to get new ones. We took out all the flooring & put in a dark laminate last year & got the new fridge now I want the new stove & counter tops. Ah If only my pocketbook would cooperate
If you go with the same kind of countertops that we did, it doesn't hurt the pocketbook so much!
Ooooh I love your new Mickey dishes....did I hear you say that Marc was SHOPPING...and HE came back with them?
I love that you used the word "broadcast" when referring to putting the chips on the counter...you are so professional

C, MEK and I are going to do this while drinking some wine and have a conference call with you for directions

Hope you had a good first day

For the record, I don't think I like Carl.
Tracy
We were both shopping, I was at the deli and he was mailing a letter. He noticed the dishes and came to get me.
When he saw them, he just knew we would "need" them.

As for that conference call, that will be just fine!
Carl gave me an "A" for the week today on my PT!
I love your classroom!!!!

Just wonderful! Can I come please & be in your class?
And your kitchen looks fantastic!!! Your counter tops are lovely and I adore the Mickey dishes - great!!!
Thanks, come along and be in 2nd grade anytime!
The kitchen was a headache but it was worth it!
I love your classroom and kitchen! Where did you get those Mickey dishes? They would go perfect in my kitchen.
Hope you had a great 1st day back.
We start next Monday. I should be done with my room tomorrow. It has some Disney touches but not over the top. I do have a lot of hidden Mickeys, though.
Hidden Mickeys, how fun!
The dishes came from a Kroger grocery chain.
Our first week is half over and so far so good!
