Wigd, I just adore your classroom!!! It must make you smile every morning when you walk in and see all the Disney touches!!! Your students are going to be in heaven!!!
Thanks Jackie! I think they will really like the Toy Story gang! Playing Zip A Dee Doo Dah when they come in every morning really makes me smile!
Mine, mine, mine!
That sounds like Bella these days.
I am enjoying every second of the family being together. I definitely enjoyed having Trent all to myself
(Mine, mine, mine!) last night driving home from AL.
I've already been weepy this morning thinking of him leaving again, but I am going to try to just enjoy this day to the fullest and try to hold the tears back until he really leaves this evening. Thoughts of the October trip will help. He told me he has a lot of fun things planned for the next few weekends, so it helps me to know the time will go quickly for him. He's got some things going on with friends down there - birthdays and four-wheeling and grill-outs, etc. That really does help me to know that at least some of his weekends will be filled with fun and not just work until we can be together again.
Your package to Brooklynn was a hit. She just kept opening things and oohing and aahing. Bella loved her baby. I love my Eeyore. Is Tigger supposed to hang out with Eeyore at my house, or was he for the girls? You outdid yourself, as always. We were going to have Brooklynn call you, but she was beside herself with excitement yesterday with everything going on. Maybe she can call you today from the Beach Club.
Oh well you know me, just like Bella, a
mine, mine, mine, kind of girl...

It sounds like Trent really has made friends in Florida and is quite busy down there. Good for him!
I hope you enjoyed your day.
Got through the tears.

Feel better now.
I thought Brooklynn would have fun with that box...
We found Tigger hanging out with Eeyore. He was up for grabs! I thought that was about the cutest, softest Eeyore I'd ever seen, is it a baby version? Harper's birthday party is today and we bought her the same doll, just the Snow White version.
Megan saw the Brooklynn and Bella's out in the living room the other day when we were wrapping them and wanted to know what we were doing and we told her not to worry, we had "baby Snow" for Harper....
As for that call, I hope to hear from Brooklynn from a sandy pool!
Anita -
Your classroom is amazing. I would be in heaven there. So cool that you have incorporated Disney into so many aspects of the classroom. I just saw Toy Story 3 (which was especially emotional for me because I realized that Andy and Brian are practically on the same timeline), so I appreciate all the TS3 stuff, even Lotso (poor misguided bear that he is!)
On another note - your counter looks beautiful. I have been trying to "sell" this idea to Denny with the proviso that we could refinish our old cabinets and replace the sink and tile the back splash. He isn't buying it and I am bummed. I know its going to be hard, but I keep thinking about the potential cost savings and the satisfaction of doing the work myself.
Did you tile the backsplash first? Can you post a before picture (when you get a chance).
Anyway - congrats on a job well done!!!!!!!
Awwwww, hugs Mary Ellen! I loved doing the classroom, with Toy Story 3 just out I thought the kids would enjoy that theme this year...
Last year they started rolling their eyes at me with all the Mickey and Minnie business and they are only 7 and 8 years old!!!
Our tile was already there and the counter top was just a regular formica. Here is a picture after we had pulled the sink and were just ready to get started with the countertop transformation.
Then you use a roller brush to paint on the sticky stuff...
Next you use a gadget that looks like a seed spreader to broadcast color chips on the sticky countertops. Oh my gosh that stuff was everywhere!
It dries, you sand it down,
then apply the gloss coat and it dries for 48 hours then you can use it lightly, regular use in a week. Our case we had the problem with the wet rag leaving a stain.
Change of color... yada yada and we went charcoal. I love it!
Yesterday while grocery shopping Marc discovered our market had new Mickey dishes!
A set came home with us.
A few more shots of the countertops and Baylor's new "sexy" television. This child camps out in here!
The work will continue as this light, the wall paper, ceiling fan, window treatments all need to be done over! Done away with!
