OK, I visit Disney a lot... Stayed a lot of places... But this time some factors have changed.. My Daughter is now 6.. no stroller... too tall for one.. Disney Club discounts are no longer available.

We are coming off the 4-day cruise and planning two nights in Disney. Originally I was thinking Boardwalk... never stayed there.. But Concierge level is very pricey without the discount, and now without a stroller I don't know if DD can make the walk to MGM. Originally thought walk through Epcot to monorail then get rented stroller at MK, but without a stroller is that too much walking? Was then thinking Swan...cheaper but not disney... or would driving to parks now be better without a stroller... now I can consider Wilderness Lodge or even Carribbean (never stayed there). I have gotten used to the Deluxe resorts love concierge but for only two days I can live without the concierge on this trip. Of should I just go back to the Poly, monorail access to ML, TTC close....

Traveling without a stroller is cramping my style.... Usually walking is no problem with husband and me....we make pretty good time.... It was a pain to get in the car everyday with the stroller then take a tram with the folded stroller.....etc etc.. Now my trip planning can be different.

Ahhh, I'm so confused... Any advise ? Any suggestions?

You can enter Epcot via the International Gateway, rent a stroller there, stroll around, then leave the stroller at the front of Epcot before getting on the monorail. When you get to MK, you can pick up a new stroller. You can use strollers at any and all parks during a single day, as long as you keep your receipt.
There is a boat that stops at the front of the Epcot area resorts that will take you to MGM and Epcot. There are busses, as well.
Your child will only have to walk from the park gates to the stroller rentals.

but I think you'll have more fun without a stroller - all that lugging it around doesn't sound like fun. And, if you pick an Epcot resort such as the Boardwalk or Swan/Dolphin, there is a boat launch to Epcot AND MGM. Easy. If your daughter is 6 and you're concerned about easy transportation - I'm thinking a MK resort might be good for you. We've done the Contemporary and Grand, and we're doing the Poly in 27 days. I think either would be great and you'd love the monorail access.

Our fave is the YC/BC. Your daughter will love Stormalong Bay - I'm wondering if you shouldn't check into it. I think you'd be pleased.

I would suggest BC or BW. We stayed at BC last Sept and my kids were 4,5,and 7 yrs. old. We walked to Epcot and took the boat to MGM. For the MK, AK, and Blizzard Beach, we took the bus.

We only took 1 stroller! No, we are NOT mean parents but to be honest, the kids rather enjoyed walking and we already did DW with 2 strollers and did not want to do that again! We are planning to be stroller free this November when we go (kids will be 5,6 and 8--we can always rent one if someone gets tired).

Also, you have to be in the mindset that you can NOT go as fast as you are used to going when DD was in the stroller. We kept a rather suprisingly good pace through most of the day. We saw almost every single attraction in each park (we were there for 7 days) The 4 yr. old got the stroller most of the day and then would take turns with the 5 year old most of the evening.

Start walking NOW with your child. Part of the fun of Disney is preparing. A month before we leave we start taking long walks wearing the shoes we will be using on the trip. We talk about specific things we want to do and see and what we will pack(mom takes notes!) We also play Disney trivia on our walks....even with the 4 yr. old! Before the kids know it, they have gone a few miles!

I think either BC or BW would be a wise choice. Have a fun trip and as long as you don't worry about the stroller, chances are your daughter won't either. See a show when she gets tired :sunny:

I can't believe You have never been to OKW. It has the magic touch and is cheap. Has a HUGE playground and it has a Kidie pool and great Dining and entertainment like free movies. It wiil be perfect. Hope it helps.

Keli :D :) ;) :smooth:  :sunny: :hyper: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Try WL! Their concierge is the least expensive amongst the deluxe resorts! Also, MK is just a boat ride away...as well as taking a boat to CR and grabbing the monorail to Epcot!

Disney is amazing... No matter how many times you go there is still something you don't know about it. I did not know that the WL had a boat to the CR. How long would that trip be. I just love eating in Chef Mickey... If I choose WL how much time should I reserve for that?

With the BW, is their a "fast food" area. I love the Poly for that, kids always get hungry when you least expect it and a quick trip to get a pizza helps a lot.

.

We always eat at Chef Mickey's(atleast once) while staying at WL. The boat ride takes about 5 minutes. Usually, there is a boat every 15-20 minutes.
