Resort help for Spring or Summer, havent been in 2 years.

I need some updated help. I will be planning a trip for next spring or summer. This time we will have our three kids, not one. Ages will be an almost 6yr old, almost 3 yr old, and a 1 1/2 yr old.

We have stayed 8 days in the past. I am now trying to plan out 10 days. Therefore budget will be tighter, and maybe a downgrade depending on the deal we can swing for a hotel room. We have stayed at both a moderate and a deluxe, we actually prefered the moderate.

Any ideas on when to check rates? and when the dates usually fall into which months for good deals?


BTW, we have some leftover hopper pass days we will be using. One of us could either use all the days, and buy an AP if we can get a good enough discount, or we can go with just a discounted room rate without AP.

This year in early March 3/9 codes were released for room only discounts for the general public to use in April to early July. The year before they were released in early Feb. in some special magazines, but were available to use by anyone that found them. In early March the codes became more "public" so to speak. Looks like the trend is early March. I would book with a TA and have them do the work for you. Our TA made our arrangements for AAA rate and then when the AP rates were released she made the changes and emailed me about it. Easiest thing I have done. I am usually a control freak, but this was one thing I was will to give up...holding on the phone for hours was not my thing.

You should look into renting points from a DVC member to stay in a villa. We are doing this for our honeymoon next June and will be saving a ton of money this way. Plus with a family it would be a lot cheaper to be able to eat small meals in your room and you guys will have a lot more space. You can look more into it DVC forums. I am so glad we found out about doing this I don't think we will stay any other way, that is until we are DVC members ourselves!
